Glad your running as I can take your seat on the bench now. My ski boots and boots I where around town/to work in the slush are rubbing the back of my right ankle and now my achilles is sore. Doesn't feel like achilles tendonitis and it was my left calf that was bothering me this past summer. Probably was just a bit aggressive with 4 hours of skiing last week on top of 50 miles running after not doing much in December. Could also be compensating as I sprained my right knee a couple weeks ago.
The exciting news is that I'm likely going to start having a coach. A local high school coach (a perennial contender for state XC title) is going to start working with the club team I joined recently. He coached (and ran on) the master's team for club XC in December.
