how about that lame from North Carolina Harless. What has he done since Craddick retired?

What is going on at Georgia? Both men and women finished 7th at the SEC meet and they placed only a few individuals at nationals. Top times indoor for the men 200 21.14, 400 47.07, 800 1:54, mile 4:16, 3000 8:23, 5000 14:47. Do they not give out scholarships? They would lose at some D3 conference meets with that squad. Most of their top individuals in each event wouldn't even make a decent Power 5 team.

Okay, Letsrun, you're full of opinions, some of which divisive, so let's duke it out. We've had threads in the past debating who the best coaches in the nation are. So who do you think is the worst? What experiences have you had or heard of with a D-I coach that would lead you to classify them as a "bad" coach?
Was that a Freudian slip when you said "Duke it out"
Duke has to be mentioned...
can you elaborate, i've heard similar things

I think the worst coaches out there are the ones in charge of fully funded programs that hardly ever sends athletes to nationals. They are either screwing up really talented recruits, or they are the worst recruiters. If you have all the resources you need and you still suck, that's unforgivable.

Definitely. I am sure there are some pretty bad coaches at smaller schools, but there are a ton of big schools with max scholarships and massive budgets that plain stink. Big difference between struggling in a tough situation at a small school and failing in every way with insane resources at a big school.

Also worth mentioning is Ryan Cole of Air Force who forgot to enter his distance runners at his conference championships and it cost his team a championship.
He's lucky the conference still allowed them to compete (not being scored) so they could hit qualifying marks for NCAAs.
Steve Plascencia, University of Minnesota
Webb for Pitt.
It doesn't make sense how bad they are - CMU could probably spank their distance squad.

He made a mistake. Ryan is a great coach

A great coach quadruple checks the deadlines and quadruple checks the entries to make sure they are accurate. Ryan is a hack.
James Robinson at Rutgers and it isnt even close. Largest state funded school in Jersey and they've gone several years where they have not even scored a point in the Big 10. They have been more than awful for a decade or more.
Lol

Bill Taylor of Lipscomb.
Back to back workouts every week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Plus hard workout Saturday as well. Men were being coached under Reed for past last 2-3 years and started to improve and get really good until Coach Reed quit cause he couldn’t handle being under Bill anymore. Bill took over and in one year took a team that won conference and finished 6th at regionals to 3rd at conference and 14th at regionals
Nuff said. Something needs to be done. These runners don’t deserve it
I was right and something was done! ?
gotta agree . wrote:

They have their Big Ten TV money. I don't know that they are trying in any sport.
Now that he's at Portland...
Jonathan Marcus.
Even with the Big Ten money the still run the largest athletic department deficit in the NCAA. More than $30 million annually. And the AD keeps blowing his horn about how great he's doing. It's really Adventures in Wonderland over there in New Brunswick.
The whole Taylor gang(Taylor’s/masons) are the worse coaches! Gooooood riddance!!!
