The guy did confirm it's even illegal for pest control people to relocate the animals.
He said Baltimore City is the only municipality that will deal with them in the state. I imagine because I think there is a city law outlawing the discharge of firearms.
He said the noise I was hearing was likely a sign of a baby as racoons are normally quiet. So I sure hope I didn't get rid of mom and leave the babies their helpless. I"m trying to make myself feel better and doubt what he is saying about that though as I first heard the noise in January when there wouldn't be babies. They mate January-through mid-March in Maryland and then gestate for 65 days so this would be pretty much the end of any baby period.
He recommended chicken wire as well. Said to spay ammonia in there to get them out.
