Think you're underestimating Taylor and Kipyego. Also, if Sisson does give the trials a shot expect her to be there or there about, not 10th!
Kipyego can definitely win the trials if she's fit.

I can name 10 women that have a better chance to make the 2020 team than Allie.
This is my projected order.
1. Jordan Hasay
2. Amy Cragg
3. Shalane Flanagan
4. Molly Huddle
5. Sara Hall
6. Sally Kipyego
7. Kellyn Taylor
8. Emma Bates
9. Desiree Linden
10. Emily Sisson
I’ll bet that at least 4 of those on the list are injured and can’t run .
Allie absolutely has a chance to make the team.
As of now I'd rank the women like this:
1. Hasay - The one with the most marathon talent while being in her prime, I bet they figure out a way to have her healthy and trained enough for a top 3.
2. Cragg - The best bet for top 3 if she shows up healthy
3. Taylor - She could very well end up being the favorite going into this thing given her consistency and upward trend and health uncertainties of other runners.
4. Hall - her best/last chance to make the olympic team? I don't see how she won't be showing up healthy and ready to compete.
5. Burla - too much experience to think she won't end up being in the mix
Could Allie improve a little bit and be in the mix for a top 3 on a given day? Absolutely.
Kellyn Taylor 2:24 in Duluth is a push vs. Allie Kieffer 2:28 in NY.
Kellyn is 0-2 vs Thweatt
Add 4 minutes to CIM or Grandmas and then see what it all means. I said this last year about 3 top 3 men. Not one got any closer than 4 minutes to those times this year.
Did anyone see Allie’s workout story on instagram yesterday. She said it was her first big girl workout. Why does she keep insisting she is a big girl??? How much does she actually weigh, does anyone know??

Anyone? bueller?
shes 5'4, and I would say she weighs between 120-125 lbs. She just looks bigger cuz Shalane Flanagan is 5'5 105 lbs.

People whose running tends to be "forever" screwed (mentally if not physically) by a couple of years of badly overdoing it in workouts because one or two of the athletes present is a 2:32 marathoner and the rest are at 2:40-2:45 but doing the same basic training sessions. One can see from a great distance that this is sheer endurance Darwinism, but oh well.
Well, dear sir, it very well could be that a not insignificant proportion of this grouping are well-educated and putting off putting their degree to work in a career because they want to see if they can make the jump from 2:40s to 2:30s and get the requisite sponsor income that would allow them to continue chasing the dream. If they can go to 2:30s while working as a beertender or massage studio receptionist, they may reason that they should be able to get under 2:30 without the wage-earner gigs. Owing to the notion that one will always run best without having to work a job, whether or not that really fits them best. If they are "chasing the dream" only in the context of delaying "real life" and "adulting" then right or wrong they reason that the best approach in this Peter Pan phase is to fitfully fling as much faeces at their wall of potential and see how well it sticks in the limited time defined by their expectations. Coaches can't force a differing level of individual expectation. This is not to say they can't exert some influence in that realm nor that this expectation fits with a healthy approach to performance improvement, however. Just that many in this group are happy to simply walk away being "'forever' screwed" as it fits their narrative of having given it their best shot.
I think she has a good shot but she can't follow the heard. She has to take a risk somewhere do something different. She can't leave it like the last trials where the top contenders controlled the race. If the race is slow, she will have bang it out and vice virsa.
I heard the thundering herd.

Brad Hudson is risking absolutely nothing. He can move back to Boulder in 5 years and start over with another group of pretenders that hang out in Boulder thinking that the city will make them great. People that aren't good enough to get paid have moved to Boulder for 30 years living off of Mommy and Daddy and searching for that special coach.
Big difference between someone who's a pro and works as a coach on the side taking some time to focus on running and living in the places she thinks best to train, like Az, and someone who comes to Boulder without a job being supported by mom & dad or a SO and doesn't have a shot at running even close to the top ten in major marathons. Most sub elites in Boulder work. Troop, when he was coaching, required it of all his athletes including the elites. Those who have the talent to get paid don't really have to work. Running IS their job, so why would it be a problem for you? Why is it a problem for you in the first place? If a family wants to support anyone, even someone who sits around all day doing nothing, why is it anyone else's concern? I sense some resentment. Are you a native and hate that transplants are invading your space or something?
These YouTube videos have decent production value. Who pays for stuff like that?

This is creepy as hell.

FWIW Allie did attend Arizona State and knows how to run in the heat of AZ from experience.
1. Her old stomping grounds are around Papago Park & Tempe Town Lake (soon to be renamed Tempe McCain Lake, but I digress). It's the area where Amy Cragg trains during her winter stint.
2. How much are they paying in rent for that house? And how close to Papago?
3. Allie will make 2020 US marathon team IF THEY BAN NIKE VAPORFLY. She is the one runner most penalized by that cheating shoe.
4. When will we see Allie USING the pool? I'd buy that for a dollar.
5. Brad is a very caring person - did you not see him clean up the coffee station at beginning of 1st vid?

Why is she most penalized by the 4%? Looks to me like she’s wearing them.

Runs are mainly through Papago, up the crosscut canal, and on the AZ canal through old town out toward Phoenix. Track looks to be a rotation between SCC (Popular with the pros in town) and ASU. I’ve seen her a few times around town in the canals.

Her form shows she would run as well in any shoe (a natural forefoot runner); her competition? not so much.
So a full ban on Nike Vaporfly would benefit her the most, irregardless of whether Allie races in them now, because it would deprive her competition of those cheater shoes, and that would hurt them more than her.
Does anyone else think that Allie reminds you of Amelia Meath?

That's a reach. After penciling-in Cragg and Huddle for 2 of the top 3 spots at the finish, Hall, Bruce, Johnson, Linden, Hasay would all have to either DNS/DNF or just crap the bed for Keiffer to have a shot at a top 3 finish. 5th-8th is what could realistically be expected on a good day.
