What if, you see someone on-line and meet up for a date (meal, movie, drinks). You go out with this person several times and that could be some money. Then you try to advances the relationship and find out Robin is Batman's buddy not a sports news anchorwoman. Could you sue the dude for fraud/deception?
It's a good question but I would wonder if one could be sued if they didn't reveal they were a Christian/Jew/Muslim/Hindu upfront or could totally see a vegan suing someone for actually being an omnivore.
True story as told by a married lesbian couple:
One of their (straight female) friends was dating a new guy, had been about 6 months. They were REALLY into each other, very happy, great sex life. Her friends all loved him, the guys all thought he was cool. He was a bit shy being naked/only liked sex in the dark, but otherwise, fine.
She later found his penis (I believe it was a strap-on but can't remember) and realized he was a trans man. He had top-surgery. He'd been wanting to tell her but hadn't found the way.
Regardless, they had a big discussion about it, she accepted it, understood where he was coming from. Everyone was shocked/surprised; no one would have guessed he was trans.
They are actually still together and are now happily engaged (might be married at this point.)
