Saw this movie yesterday. Very much enjoyed it. A good way to end a fantastic career.
Anyone else seen it yet?

No i want to see if though. Thanks for the review
Saw it last night; good movie. Clint still has ‘it’.
Also features Michael Pena, fresh off his role as a DEA agent in Narcos Mexico, playing a DEA agent yet again. Guess it saves on wardrobe and time needed to "get in character." Hope the DEA makes him an honorary agent.
Pretty good movie. Clint Eastwood is still such a savage honestly, he cracked me up.
I was honestly disappointed by it. The protagonist had no redeeming characteristics other than the fact that he went back for his wife, other than that it was hard to root for him. There was a lot of unearned feelings, they didnt give enough context for Eastwood's relationship to his family. Honestly a pretty generic storyline. They also kind of set up a possibility of a relationship with that cartel guy that just never went anywhere... too many plot holes. Also, what kind of wack prison lets prisoners grow plants? Dumb af.
The girls were super hot tho. Who was that black chick in the bikini?
Agreed. Crap movie and diminishes his legacy.
Terrible acting fron everyone except maybe Clint, awful score, too many clichés and bland script.
Anyone else see Brad and Clint read from cue cards? This is a major film, not SNL.
An excellent film. I guess the prior two wanted some Fast n Furious stupidity or lame Star Wars crap.
I have never seen the Fast and Furious movies and only catch a Star Wars movie when someone else wants to see it.
I am a little snobby that I enjoy foreign films and watch a lot of PBS.
I liked Clint's other movies; The Mule is just such of dropoff from Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven that I can't help but to be disappointed.
That said, all the Oscar bait movies this season suck so maybe that's why y'all have lowered expectations.
Yes, saw it. First part of it was cluncky acting then it got better. Would recommend...

Your first four sentences describe pretty much every Clint Eastwood movie.

I saw it too and enjoyed it.
Maybe a little to predictable.
It was okay, not his best.
I saw the movie. While I didn't really hate it, when I was watching it, I was like if I'm objectively watching this movie it's bit good and makes no sense.
The whole plot line made zero sense. Eastwood is supposedly a guy who totally ignored his own family for most of his life. He was a no-show for his own daughters wedding?
The only type of people who do that are fast charging business aholes. Yet he's presented as a guy who was into growin flowers for fun. So a guy who is into flowers, is a noshow for his family? That makes no sense. Then later in life, the same guy is all into his family.
it just made no sense.
But since the plot line involves family and crime and old people, all things that pull at the heart we walk out feeling like the movie was worth it simply because eastwood stares at you?
The movie objectively should be given like1-2 stars out of 5.

Now that I think about it, you're right. But I liked Gran Torino, because cars.
I also thought Gran Torino was supposed his last acting gig. Dude just can't resist.

What legacy?
It's a Clint Eastwood movie. Nobody expects legacy.
Clint is Clint so the legacy stuff is a bit funny. Every which way u can legacy ? The gauntlet legacy? Almost all his westerns etc etc. I’m a big fan but I never worry about his legacy or really great cinema when considering his movies. He’s upped his game on a few but mostly just he is what he is.

Exactly - thank you for that. Clint movies are formulaic. The only actor/director with a more formulaic routine is Mel Gibson, where he or the protagonist is a solid everyday man, unwillingly thrust into the limelight and forced to save the world, like Jesus.
The Road Warrior
The Patriot
Apocalypto
Braveheart
Passion of the Christ (getting a bit too on the nose with that one, but that's just me)
Every movie is a corny Jesus parable.
