Like a previous poster mentioned, Northwestern is letting this last class finish racing track races (not Big 10’s). The plan is to be women’s cross country only next year and going forward. A pretty hard sell.
They qualified for NCAAs in xc in 2003 or so. They only could do a few meets in track (without going to NCAA). It can be done.

Shouldn’t even try to say they have a program!
How many teams have you qualified ??

Yeah but who wants to when it could be a career ender? Unless you're a female with Joe Franklin in your corner... Or you just want to retire in Chicago.
See grade 74 which is advertised as the salary.
What’s the word on USF, UNC ( head or assistant if Andrea) and cal assistants staying or going?

What happened to Denard?
Obvious guy thinks Andrea got hired for the UNC job. No one’s heard anything, internal hire?
He quit. The throws results have been slowly deteriorating under him. I think not getting a respectable D1 job put a sour taste in his mouth. He would have been exposed at one anyway. He is probably done coaching
On a second note does gvsu hire an Ashland alum? Or could they possibly go after Saenz down the road? Doubt he would ever go d2 unless the check was fat. Maybe they go with one of the garagestrength guys or rodhe.

An internal hire? For UNC assistant? If true they didn’t go throws? Would Andrea make it an all distance push? Or would she go field event generalist like a lot of distance types do.
Her recent social media posts are still focused on UNC. Maybe regardless of the new head coach she is being held on because of an multi year contract.

Hopefully they do something solid with this opportunity and bring in & SUPPORT a coach who is thinking about competing and winning in the Big Ten (which is definitely not the Big East/American Athletic/METS/etc) and recruits with that in mind.
Who knows? Maybe they'll just bring Tony out of the mothballs?
Andrea would never have left Ames without assurance she would be given Director when Harrliss was shown the door. I am sure other distance coaches have applied but they’re all about the same and Andrea is already there and a female Director is safe. Any guess what Harliss was making?
Agree that the job is Andrea’s. As desperate as she was to get away from Martin, there is no way she would have take UNC without a decent level of safety. Not a big fan of hers but with the UNC name and a focus on distance, they can’t help but get much better.
I would guess Harliss was making $200,000.
180k it’s online. Is that Rutgers job posted? Also is it part or full time?
