Rebuilding at Ole Miss? Make the XC coach the head coach and you guys wont be talking about him going to UNC.
Unfortunately for Ole Miss distance coach (white, male) Connie checks 2 boxes for HR: not a white male

Head Franklin Pierce head coach Zach Emerson gets the wuss-of-the-year award for his comments about Craig (Cee Cee) Telfer's exploits at the NCAA II meet:
“It was tough conditions out here with the wind and the heat over the last three days, but as she has over the last six months, CeCe proved herself to be tough enough to handle it,” said Zach Emerson, head coach at the school in Rindge, New Hampshire. “Today was a microcosm of her entire season; she was not going to let anything slow her down. I’ve never met anybody as strong as her mentally in my entire life.”
It was is if the very mediocre Craig Telfer who was on his men's team the year before, NEVER EVEN EXISTED!!
Emory filled by a bit of a surprise.
Vanhoy to UNC and Ole Miss in some real trouble!

Who?
DI coach. youll find out soon.
Just like last year at UW, could UNC go get a top distance coach to move? Could be 2 spots to fill.
Vanhoy? Joe Franklin? Vigilante? Houlihan? Diljeet Taylor?
Any combo would be killer in the ACC.
Or just Andrea and Bobby
If it is Andrea who do they get as throws coach?
With the writing on the wall at ASU, maybe Blutreich comes back to Carolina!
What writing is that? They aren’t getting rid of him.

Every year for the last 3 years someone has posted either Vanhoy to UNC or Vanhoy to Virginia. Listen.... it’s not going to happen. You’re probably the same person who stalks someone’s twitter page to see who they followed to determine what school they “might” interview for.
Are you Vanhoy? Are you his side chick?
DAMN. Let it go and get off this mans nuts already
Or its just his main chick tryna get him to move closer to her in Winston Salem...

Why would someone go from D-1 to D-3?
Seems like a huge step backwards
Am I missing something here. When was Ole Miss a track & field and/or a cross country powerhouse? Nationally or in the SEC?
All they ever had was a couple of All-American types spread out over different events at different times.

"Emory is a very unique opportunity for me to go back to my roots in Division III at one of the elite institutions at that level," added Nguyen. "It also brings my wife back to her hometown and allows us to live next to our family in Atlanta."
So in a word, family
There are a lot of reasons why someone would make the move from D1 to D3. Maybe this person no longer wants the stresses of D1. Maybe the pay and admin support is better at Emory (heaven knows it costs enough to attend Emory). Maybe he has family in Georgia? I'd venture to say this coach has his reasons and is happy with his decision. Sometimes D1 isn't all it's cracked up to be? Just a thought.
The level of performance in any division is not the only measure of value for a coach.
If you have experienced multiple divisions/levels of coaching, you have the ability to assess what makes you happiest.
Division 1 tends to run faster, Division 1 tends to pay more. I would suggest there is more to a "good job" than those two variables.
