If that is the pick for UMO who else did they interview or have apply?

Most of these ADs don’t bother to interview everyone at that level. They’ll look through applications and go with who they can afford that’s from or close to the area and offer them. If they don’t accept they’ll move to the next application.
D1 ADs will at least give the illusion that you have a fair chance by going through the process of reviewing applications to make sure its a diverse selection, then phone interview, then campus interview, even though they know who they’ll be hiring from the beginning.
For the most part that is a very sad but accurate observation ?

Why is that?
No on campus facility for track and field to practice. I'm not sure where they are able to go for training.
Where will Duane Ross end up?
I want to see more sprint coaches that have been successful assistants to get their own programs.
Ken Harnden
Quincy Watts
Tim Hall
Brandon Hon
Delethea Quarles
Any of them could be successful at Mississippi State.
Thoughts?
Two of the five people you listed are not very well respected in the profession. Why? They are arrogant a-holes, with a condescending attitude, who think they are better than everyone else. The other three would be excellent choices and are well respected in the coaching profession. And no, I will not give you the names of which are the two, but almost any coach would agree.

I’ve only heard Ken Harnden was difficult. Any guesses on who the other is?

Then how is he surviving working with Beth?
I think he’s surviving Beth the way every other assistant she’s ever had, has survived- Lots of liquor and cigs.

Is it me or has this been a very, slow year??
Very few postings, not many hirings, and very few coaches “resigning”.... it seems like there has only been consistent movement for the Division-3 ranks. Even D2 has been slow this year.
Several rumors of a few D1 programs changing staff but nothing confirmed. I hope we don’t have to wait until June/July to apply for gigs.

Considering most coaches’ contracts end June 30, so you may have to wait.
