True but they also have some big money alums they could chip in ? I guess it is a commitment thing. Unless there is a big time coach that wants this job for some reason!!

Depends on candidate pool could go jumps or distance
Doesn't work that way. Alums can't pay for salary. Only Cal U. Won't be big money. Will be average hire at best for Pac-12

Is that a California law? Otherwise, sure they can. Ever heard of endowed positions?
Not gonna happen... Dreams
Pool already narrowed. It’ll be a PAC-12 assistant who gets the job.

Pool narrowed before closing date, lol. Some haven't even applied yet.
Bigger and better opportunity...or is Wingard that tough to work for?
Why so many jobs open in the East? Does everyone hate it there or are the coaches just that bad? NOTHING open in the West other than Cal.

The next distance coach there will be the 3rd (or 4th, depending on how you count them) in 3 years (since May of 2016). That should answer your question.
What do you think is the shelf life of a position like Christopher Newport is? I guess it pays thirty-thirty five thousand a year?
My guess is one to three years?

Probably has something to do with a much greater population density in the East. Hence more jobs. Hence more job openings. But if you value your quality of life, you do hate the East.
Okay it would be the third-ish coach in more like 4 years but she's leaving for reasons unrelated to the job - moving because of her partner and getting out of coaching.
I would be a better coach than you all. In addition to being hotter than you all.

Texas isn’t in the West. It’s a part of Mexico. And people actually like living in California so aren’t leaving, despite what Fox News wants you to believe.

Anyone have any information on what they are looking for at CMU? Good spot for a young coach to break in?
I assume someone to replace Basler's jumps spot. Not sure why they would want a distance person, unless they want to finally push Kaczor out.
