No, only the miserable post on here. Most coaches love their job and feel happy with their situation.

Why do you say that ? Is there an obvious candidate? I know the season is upon us, but it's only been 10 days since the job posted.
Ok, now I'm asking the question too. Anyone have any idea whether the Utah position has been filled or, if not, whether they intend to fill it this fall?

#1 So having several All Americans, a few National Champions and highly ranked SR athletes in the US isn’t big time? Interesting
#2 Fair enough
#3 False. All DI programs have the same rules with CARA and RARA. Plus I’m sure he’ll have someone there to deal with it.
#4 While recruiting and bringing in Blue Chip athletes may be new territory for him, I’m certain he will definitely attract them. Remember, all his success came with athletes bigger schools passed on. His athletes from Charleston Southern and South Carolina St won national titles against major programs. Kids will notice that.
#5 Again, at a much larger school with resources, he’ll have the help he needs.
#6 See #5
Who did Stanford and UConn hire for throws?
two women
But who? Year of the woman continues.
I don’t have a dog in the fight & don’t really care, but Power 5’s do indeed have some minor different CARA/RARA rules than mid majors, they just don’t put it in the manual. Power 5’s have forced themselves to give 21 extra days off to each athlete during their season in addition to the one day off per week. It’s relatively minor & not hard to figure out...more just another pain in the a$$ to work in & document. But I have a feeling that’s what was meant by the differing CARA/RARA rules mentioned? Also, do mid-majors have to deal with all the relativity new rules about when you can practice after travel & what actually counts as RARA? I’m not saying this is so complicated as to disqualify a mid major coach from a P5 head job (it definitely wouldn’t lol) I’m just genuinely asking if this goes beyond the Flex 21 that P5’s have screwed themselves with in the name of the “student-athlete experience.”
Only the Power 5 had input, discussed and voted for the TMP part of RARA/CARA. Non Power 5 teams are free to follow it, but not required.
National titles, as in plural?
You are showing you lack of knowledge about leading a major Power 5 program and all it entails. That is OK. Most on the message board don't have a clue.
Nobody gets a job based on knowledge of compliance paperwork. Stop.
I never trust people that get "Certifications".[/quote]
Well, maybe not in coaching but lots of jobs require certain certifications to even apply, let alone get and keep the job.
I don't think there is inherently anything wrong with certifications, although I see some of the gold standard certifications in some industries to be little more than a way for that organization to make money.
I have mixed reviews on certifications, but to not trust someone because they have one seems to be a little skewed.
Was this posted? Don’t remember
The majority of non P5 do follow the same CARA/RARA stipulations. How do I know, I’ve worked on both levels.
Yes, I believe he had a jumper win a national title and the 400m guy.
You are showing your lack of knowledge by not elaborating on what you are saying. I can do that too. By not elaborating on how much you supposedly know and spewing garbage, you’re obviously a phony or a horrible coach. Probably still live with your parents.
Non Power 5 teams are not required to have a TMP......Fact. If I have to elaborate for you, that means you don't know what I am discussing.
Langfords press release at Oklahoma said he coached a total of 4 All-Americans. Not impressive, especially when you coach both genders and most schools and coaches at SID's don't distinguish between 1st team (top 8) and 2nd team (9th to 16th). Oklahoma could have easily found a much more experienced coach. With that said, that doesn't mean he will not be successful. As for my parents, they are retired and I haven't lived with them since I when off to college at a Power 5 school where I was a 6 time All-American. I have accomplished more as an athlete or coach at every level than you have. Good luck youngster and good luck to Langford.
So... who takes over for Devin at Texas ?

What’s the story?
Can we stop all this childish bs, of who knows better than who, who’s a better coach, who lives with parents, etc... and get back to jobs? This thread has serious derailed this year, due to lack of maturity and focus of posters. The kids are out in full force.

The kids you speak about are the new coaches being brought into the sport. We are in good hands, haha???
I don't know what happened to just shutting the hell up and earning things but I've never seen more whiney, entitled, victim-mentality having, soft, and bratty little babies than reading through this thread this year. Whether you guys are old coaches who have been around the block, millennials who are just starting to establish themselves, or gen Z kids who SHOULD be just starting to volunteer or get GA positions... It has been insufferable sifting through this garbage.
I hope many of the posters in this thread aren't actually in charge of coaching any athletes.
Good luck to all who have earned jobs this summer and if you're one the people still stuck somewhere you don't want to be, stop crying, pour yourself into it, coach better, make better connections, try again next year, or leave the profession. You don't "deserve" anything and you don't have to coach.
