As is usual, Western Michigan put an assistant administrator in charge of the search who believes they know all about cc/track. Factually the person is quite clueless and scared off candidates with their attitude and expectations. A real shame.

Anyone have info on the NC A & T assistant position?
They have an opening? What event?
Doesn't specify event.
The end of another week approaching and still no news or rumor on Stanford? Shame shame shame ? shame shame shame ?
Not out of college track, but just volunteering somewhere closer to home with an actual full time job. Did have a hard time in Monroe though. Even with low cost of living $1500 a month doesn't get you anywhere.
BIG news coming out of Stanford today!! They have narrowed their candidate pool down to three for the coveted Director of Ops position and will be announcing a decision today.
Three finalists are: Sasha Leeth, Brian Bancroft, and David Beauchem. Stay posted!!

This is the first time it's sounded like a true rumor.

The MALE candidates don't stand a chance (even if they are the most qualified)

The entire Stanford team is on pins and needles about the announcement of the assistant coaches. Are we wondering who will coach the cross country team and work with the long distance runners? Hell no! We are sweating out the choice of the Director of Ops position. There is a rift among the athletes regarding this hire. Half the team wants the Director of Ops choice to be a person who favors Hilton Honors. And half of us are hoping the choice will be someone who favors Marriott Points. The decision is coming soon. Who cares about the minor coaching spots!

This person is not on the team. We only stay in RV's when we travel. They are currently parked on El Camino Real awaiting our first trip to the Pac-10 championship. We actually need the coaches to drive since most of us still don't have valid CA drivers licenses.
Should be an announcement about Chattanooga soon. They already made the hire.
Any idea if the current coach is staying and it's just the assistant? OR do you think they will replace the whole staff?
It's a great school, I just wish they did more with the track side.
Stanford director of ops position has already been filled. None of the above mentioned.
Stanford sprint coach was filled using these criteria:
A - old boy network
B - existing N California presence
Guess away.

Man I need to just go ahead and switch to becoming a throws coach and drop this distance crap. These jobs are everywhere this year!
You guys are cracking me up! I used to be in the camp of just post about coaching jobs. Now this whole ...Dir. of Ops,... Cardinal v. Cardinals, it's a bird, it's a color, it's a tree... he's not a student, he is a student. It's all fun to follow along.
That and jumps coaches
You can always tell the importance of a track and field/ cross country by the news the date a college hires a coach and 4 month later, it is still top news.
