No where is "development" in any P5 coach's job description.
Exactly! Their high school coaches should have that covered, what with the $2500 stipend they receive and all.

How does it feel to be out of the know, wrong 100% of the time while all the women you were ripping on were able to turn down multiple 6 figure offers this summer?

I think pretty much everyone knows Toledo is a great opportunity. Makes it kind of pathetic that you never placed higher than 21st at NCAA's with everything you mentioned working in your favor.

I wish I was so crappy of a D1 coach that someone would light me up on here for only taking a bunch of mid-major teams to the NCAA and for only being able to finish as high as 21st.
I’ve known him since he coached at Coastal Carolina and he was responsible for taking that school from nowhere to nearly qualifying for the NCAAs as a team when they finished 3rd in the old District III. That’s when the district meet had over 70 schools in the same race. Nobody outside that conference ever heard of them and the only reason they didn’t make it was there were only 23 teams going back then. Would be great to see him do it all again at the next job.
Jumps job open at TN Tech. Good opportunity for someone with good facility. Saw on NCAA Jobs website
What happened to Ed Loyd?
He was previously at Tenn Tech.
Did he follow Wayne Angel to Northern Colorado?
Mid major teams have won NCAA championships before....but continue to worship disgraced coaches with mediocre results.
Mid majors will never win a track championship again.

It can only happen in cross country and only if you dump all your money into distance like NAU, Iona, Providence etc. you would have to completely sacrifice track but it’s better to be great at one sport and good at the other two than to be average in all three.
Normally I would agree with you but this is a different circumstance. They just combined the program and all the previous coaches on the women's staff left. The Director, Greg Roy, is a great coach but he hasn't coached women in more than 30 years. In this situation, it's really important to have a woman on staff to help with the integration process and to help the men's coaches adjust to coaching women.[/quote]
Perhaps, because UCONN is in deep $hit financially, they are using this as an opportunity to save a lot of money? Combine programs and hire an entry level coach to satisfy Title IX. Two birds, one stone. Couple that with move back to big east and zero interest in developing female distance runners for that conference.
$2,500 HS stipend? When I coached at the HS level I had a teacher pay of $45,000 a year +$6,000 for Head XC and $4,800 for Assistant Track. This was in MO.
Anyone have any info or insights on the U MO St Louis job or the Western Illinois Assistant Opening?
Looks like it’s too late for Marquette to hire a coach so are just promoting the volunteer assistant to interim HC. I feel bad for the incoming freshmen.
Rumor out of Macomb...they cut the assistant position.
What’s the Word on Fresno State who did they Hire for Head ?
