UCONN?
moving to the Big East with a coach with \zero experience!what a joke .So her father is the CEO of Abracombie and Fitch and that makes her a coach?
Uconn this is a joke
She loved UCONN so much she transferred to Oregon and then on to New Mexico.
Nothing against the girl, but she is not even remotely qualified to be a Head Coach at the Div. 1 level, not even close. What happened to paying dues? You have to be kidding that no one more qualified applied?
Pretty certain the job was never posted which I still am not sure of the legality of. Oh well. If people don’t buy into the “it’s who you know” thing they should really reconsider .
For those of us who do know (because we actually KNOW her) I can tell you contrary to you knowing “for a fact” , she did turn down several P5 offers, lets start with the ones everyone knows about. Definitely turned down Cal (actually I thought she was going to say yes to this one) Okie State (**** ton of cash), UCONN (been there done that, oh and do you really think they offered her what they offered LC),and also Oklahoma to go down the list.
Maybe you don’t realize she’s a mother with young kids and perhaps she’s looking for something you couldn’t possibly relate to.

Once again, you are full of crap. Not one statement you made is true. To start, in your previous post you said she turned down jobs paying over 100k. None of the jobs you mentioned pay over 100k. So you are already exposed as a LIAR.
Additionally, she was not in consideration for any of those jobs. She has already shown her true colors as a power-hungry coach looking to usurp power from her superiors (look at UNC). Nobody trusts her to work as a subordinate. The only places interested in hiring her were looking for directors, such as Toledo.

Yes. Couple of hours down I-94.
I know I need to not respond... because you are clearly an angry, jealous, disgruntled male distance coach who can’t get hired. Also it’s clear no one has ever tried to hire YOU. What a job paid employee A has NOTHING to do with what a job will pay employee B.
Case in point UNC, since it’s public record why don’t you do some homework and look up what she was paid vs Mark V. Maybe even try look up the salaries of some of these new coaches recently hired coaches and compare them to the salaries of whom they replaced. What you’ll see is a lot of peeps getting paid way more (in some cases way less) then previous coach/employee.
Anyway I’m done you’re clearly a hater. Good luck to you, seems like you could use some.
She was offered the Cal job days after Milt came to UNC
Who cares! Get a room! It the thread to argue who deserves what job! Let
It go! Talk about openings for 3-4 more weeks before this thread is done!
Hello Stanford, your new director of ops
I can tell you for 100% certainty that she was offered P5 jobs. More than one of my coaching friends offered her the job. They, nor I, have any reason to lie.
Contrary to what you may think, the Toledo job is a great gig for someone that would like some stability. The program can be very successful on the national and international level. The track is right in the middle of campus and just had a massive upgrade. The indoor facility is perfect for training distance runners and there are no less than 50 miles of wooded, dirt trails within just a quick drive from campus. The home cross country course has hosted the NCAA Regionals and is gorgeous and right across the street from campus as well.
In addition, the administration is incredibly supportive, the team of doctors is also the same team of doctors for the US Women's Figure Skating Team (many of the same exact injuries). They believe in systematic ferritin testing and have a specific protocol for liquid iron based on ferritin levels. The strength and conditioning coaches let us plan our own program and the non-revenue sports have their own weight room.
If you look at the administration and the other coaches, most coaches stay for a long time. Says a lot about how they are treated. Had I not messed up, I would have likely stayed there forever. No matter how good we got, I only ever applied for one job in my entire 15 years. That was the Vanderbilt job.
Andrea has a family. She is a great coach and an even better human being. She may not stay forever, but that place would welcome her there for that long and she will see tremendous success.
To the main point: Yes, absolutely it is accurate she was offered bigger and higher-paying positions. I have zero reason to lie. Yes, Toledo may not sound appealing at first to an outsider, but for the reasons mentioned, it is a great setup for a distance program.
Flame away boys. I know you cannot wait....

This is categorically false.
They just went backwards with these hires.

How does it feel to be categorically not in the know?
Would Vince Anderson consider the Florida State opening? Good get by TAMU
I hear he’s done with college. Supposed to be focusing on just coaching pros

Offered and turned down. Facts.

Sounds like he's taking a consulting approach for the next year. Probably similar to what Dan Pfaff was doing for programs. Come in, evaluate, give feedback, and improve the overall training design and quality for those who can afford to bring them in.
I’d imagine his phone has been ringing off the hook since the announcement by TAMU of his non-renewal.
