Not necessarily a joke. While she doesn't have much track coaching experience, she may have shown a real feel for it. Some people gain more experience in one year than others with ten. I'd always hire someone who is really sharp but with a short resume over someone who has a bunch of years, but who keeps having their first year over and over again.

The announcement clearly emphasized that she recruited well, and at many D3 programs, that's the head coach's first, second, and third priorities. You get to worry about winning only after the team reaches the size the admin wants.

Is there something you don't understand about this being a jobs thread? Do you need help reading the title above? I never said this situation is right or wrong. The fact is that this is a jobs thread, and it doesn't belong here. It especially doesn't need to be continued to be talked about on this thread. Rojo is to blame for stepping in, making comments, and merging threads into this one. Don't get me wrong. All these unemployed wanna-be coaches are freaking out about a few posts not specifically about open jobs. You aren't qualified, you aren't going to get a college job, good luck coaching middle school track for the rest of your life.

The Cornell coach situation is very common and there needs to be more conversations about this type of terrible behavior. There shouldn't be one coach in the nation that thinks this is acceptable behavior. It is wrong and I lost all respect for him.

Which position was filled at Monmouth? The Head job? Or the distance job?

Lehman College in the Bronx, a Div. 3 member of the CUNY conference, has a spot for one or maybe two part-time assistants. (A clean New York driver's license is a big plus.)

Funny thing is that it really doesn't matter what you think. They're getting the job opportunities and you and your pals aren't and there's nothing you can do about it. Might as well laugh like the clown you are!

Mississippi State distance job

Heard another inexperienced female is getting the head gig at western Michigan. I believe she was the assistant at tenn tech for 2 years. Where’s the dues paid guy again? There must be like a conversion rate or something we are all missing.
