You couldn't be more wrong. Every school is a stepping stone for every coach. He wasn't an alum but look at Milt - won best program then left for UNC.
Hiring alumni or people who grew up locally (or people who previously coached at that school) doesn't improve job retention. Salary and giving resources to the team are the only things that will improve retention.
