Miller certainly the front runner. But they’re considering a few outside candidates.

Those two jobs opening would certainly start this years carousel. Both of those jobs would get a big name.
Really? A big name would want a pay decrease to live in one of the most expensive areas in the world for a program that’s not fully funded on a small school’s budget with the future of their facility up in the air? Maybe a mid major head or P5 assistant who just wants their shot at the big time & then get out, but I’m not sure a big name would risk their career on that?
If you've looked at the types of recruits they get on the distance side each year, you'd know that they get plenty of the talent they need to be successful. The women should be a top 15 team in the NCAA next fall, so yes, I think coaches would "risk their career" on that.
Yes, there are coaches who would “risk their careers” on the Cal job; however, they are not currently coaching top 20 teams. In short, only candidates with much less to lose than their top level competition...

I don't think you understand the size of erection california kids have for this school. It recruits itself, I know because I have to recruit against it.
I get it. Kids love Cal, but the super-serious minded distance types - the ones you win championships with - will always find their way to other programs...
Meanwhile, Cal pays less than many mid-majors in the most expensive place to live in North America...
Really? Do they take Viagra? Or is it natural?

Who is that? Sandoval at Cal? We have heard that for 5+ years now and all indications point to him wanting to continue to coach.
We know Kraft if retiring, just don't know when, is it him? His successor moved on, so if it is Kraft, who gets the job?

So possible retirements are Sandoval from Cal, Kraft from ASU, and I'll throw in Harvey from Arizona.

But don't count on them because their admins will never hold them accountable to success. Zero incentive to retire if they got nothing else to do...let this be a warning to all the young kids thinking about making a life out of this...this is how it actually works.
Let the lowest bidding begin!

I would take the Cal job in a heartbeat, and it would not long to get it moving. Would love that challenge!
Would take no time at all to be much much better.
Would take an infinite amount of time to contend for anything meaningful. (And spending 10+ scholarships to be 7/8/9th at NCAA Cross is not meaningful)
Sorry Bears’ fans
Joe Lynn to Berkeley! You heard it here first
I heard Joe Lyn is on UND Campus right now interviewing and we’ll then be flying direct to Cal to interview.
You guys are some turds.

This story reeks of BS by the athlete. I'm not saying something didn't happen, but it's not passing the smell test.
