What is the deal with the delay in hiring good coaches? How the hell is Ondrasek still out of a job? He is the smartest young coach out there and everyone is missing the boat on him.

They posted the paid position earlier this summer. There's also a volunteer spot posted.

Are you trying to bait someone in to bash this guy?
Because Oklahoma just finished 20th and 25th in the terrible Midwest region.
What makes him so amazing?

No, quite the opposite. He is a very good coach. He only had 2 years at OK so you can hardly blame him for their problems. The people he brought in were coming along very well. I would say that Kevin has the smarts of a Magness but with a personality.

So is this guy retired now or what? How can you be coaching D1 XC but still train at a high level while going around the country to race.

Fair enough. Although I have seen coaches turn things around in 1 recruiting cycle and drastically improve kids they inhereted. Time will tell.
anything to please the distance coach!

Yeah I totally made it up.
Ondrasek is a great coach? OU was top 25 at ncaa before he got there. He ruined that team. He had Jacob Burcham and the kid was MIA after he took over and was 16th at ncaa Cross under Dunn. As stated above the regional finishes were lower than national placement under Dunn. Also wasted a lot of money on 18:40 Texas girls.

On top of that i believe he was there more than two years... at least three!?

This is a classic case of not knowing what goes on at Power 5’s. Dunn left because he knew his time there with good athletes was gone, and scholarship was shifting towards sprints/jumps/multis.
From his facebook page Tim Langford is going to OU to become men's sprint coach

UNC also went from three paid female coaches to one. For one of the most 'liberal' universities in the south, they sure took a step back in diversity.
Why are you assuming having less females on staff will be a step back? That's sexist.

Vicky Pounds to Clemson cross country. Does anybody know anything about her other than the press release?

Was a bit surprised to see this hire- Vicky is a great person, wonderful temperament and it plays well for recruiting- although I wouldn’t consider her a strong recruiter.
Most of her time at Montana was as a volunteer.
Paid coach for 8 years according to bio
New Orleans throws open
He still had the high money distance kids and did poorly. Also got rid of their top freshman at ncaa from the year before. Didn’t develop anything. Can’t great coaches develop athletes? The money switched and Ondrasek was the pawn because of the AM connection. A yes man.
