The top two candidates (#1 & 2) were the only two that Stanford reached out to. They both declined Stanford's offer. Now, the administration is examining the three others below, plus another person that jumped into the mix during the last week. I don't know who that mystery person is right now.

So, Stanford is deciding between Mike McGuire, Beth Alford-Sullivan, Joe Franklin, and one other person. The reason why this is taking so long is because they thought one of their top two would accept the job. Stay tuned!!

He would have to shoot himself Before he gets to San Fran because guns are banned in CA.

If it’s who I think it is SHE will be a great hire. Retired pro. Paid her dues coaching and developing athletes on every level. Great mentors and coaches backing her.

We are not thinking of the same person, but I am not 100% certain on this. This could be very interesting.

That’s what I thought. I’ve been to some of those thrower meets where I’ve looked at the hammer landing area and thought to myself , “well sh^t, I am pretty sure even I can hit the A Standard here.”

Judge did like his bigger gals alright. Guy found his niche good for him.

Metcalf. You guys saw him chumming it up with Vin & the Stanford AD's at Pre right? Keeps the staff except for Dylan who follows Milty to Chapel Hill & Liz is out of coaching, so he brings PSP or Deena aboard (they're not touching Deena for head/director).

Agreed. Volunteer coaches should pay their dues by getting coffee and holding clipboards, not actually coaching an athlete to a national Championship. What’s next? Athletes wanting to transfer to a school with a good coach so they can get better? Outrageous!

I don't know any volunteers who are getting anybody coffee. I bet if you tried that on a female applicant they'd probably file a lawsuit.
