Joe is one of the best coaches in the country, but even at Butler relied on foreign athletes. He would have to change his tune a bit to fit at Stanford. Not that it wouldn't be hard, recruiting to Stanford is much easier than Indy or ABQ. But being at a power 5 he would also give up a lot of the freedom he has had in his career, and job security would be low at a place like Stanford. He's also not had to deal with the academic stresses of a high level university. He does knows how to put on a great meet, look what he's done with Bryan Clay. I think he would continue on what Miltenberg built at Stanford, nothing crazy, safe hire.
