What happened to Rinker?
What happened to Rinker?
Joe Compagni retiring from Monmouth University in NJ.
That's a small but good opening. Monmouth is a really good mid-major D1 program who often send people to NCAAs in track and perform well, and they have by far the best training facilities in the MAAC.

Okay I'd believe Smith would interview. That's one. Who else has actually interviewed?

Okay, that's two legit interviews for Stanford - Mike Smith and BAS.
Any other confirmed interviews?

Wonder if his freshman girl will follow him.

Highly doubtful. But him leaving could be fake news

True, but he never felt like a good hire for LSU to begin with.
LSU has McGregor written all over it! With so many distance openings, we may see a changing of the guard with younger coaches getting big opportunities.

Which McGregor is that? I think any coach coming in and not understanding what LSU wants their distance program to be is going to be disappointed. I'd assume they'd either go with a coach who has national connections and an 800 background or a coach who is going to be fine working with a team of mainly walk ons.
Wayland Baptist in Texas looking for a sprints, jumps and hurdle coach.

Joe has built a great culture at the Jersey Shore. Monmouth went from being slightly better than a community college or one of the NJAC schools to one of the most complete teams in the Northeast in his 20+ years. He always told me it was the support he received from the admins, assistant coaches, and the community that made it all work. Great dude who will be missed.
Monmouth is a solid landing spot, with very good facilities, in a talent rich state.

Is he really retiring or is there something else going on? He is pretty young and they just had their most successful year.

Wonder if that's Pat Henry's nephew's old job.
Maybe Pat hired his own family member to fill Anderson's spot.
Hmmmmm, ok Pat wrote:

Unless they are adding another coach, it is indeed Henry’s nephew’s old job.

Heard it was Vin or Mike Smith. Admins can't agree on which way to go.
Certainly very different candidates.
