I wish that were true but sadly, no, it's getting more crowded each year.
I realize that Irvine isn't the Bay area, but how the heck is somebody supposed to live in Cali on 35K??

Irvine is still really expensive. Seems to me that position is made for a fresh outta college kid.
Yes, California is really expensive but the population isn’t dying down still. Our country in general is just getting more packed. You think all those people who left for Colorado, Texas, or Arizona won’t have their homes filled in no time?
I lived in Michigan for 4 years and and Winter was 7-8 months long. It is the Frozen Tundra! Esp around Grand Rapids!
Why would the HireEd board not be legit? Schools pay money for the add. If it wasn't legit, it would only be posted on their HR website.
What event?

Coaching pay sucks
He went from part-time to full-time that’s why. Their program just became fully funded (yes, 12.6 and 18 scholarships) 3 years ago. Budgets are starting to catch up for coaches. My uncle is an AD at another school in the conference and has spoken really highly of their AD’s support there. I think it is a good spot for a young coach to go to, get experience, get decent pay, get good scholarship to work with, and have a shot to win conference championships to “pad” his resume to jump somewhere else.
Decent pay should not be 16k. Decent should be at least 65k. 46 was full time. And if it was decent then I’m sure he wouldn’t have left. Unless you want rooomates you can’t survive off that.
Speaking of Cali
Stanford opened
What’s the story there? That sure is out of the blue

Took the Carolina job
You're just soft. Most people can handle Michigan winters and thrive, Hansons-Brooks for example! Wuss. ;-)
Speaking of Michigan. I have heard Jerry is out. Maybe he is in line for Stanford or something else that hasnt hit the presses yet. Heard today his top throws recruit de-committed on top of his top thrower going onto the portal.

Or everyone realizes how good life can actually be in California that they get out of coaching.
Well Jerry’s wife still lives in Alabama, so likely tired of the distance situation. He could retire anytime also.

Good luck finding a mid-major full-time coaching position making 65k a year. I personally think they SHOULD make that, but they are very rare. Especially for a throws coach. Heck, even some Pac-12 full-time coaches barely make more then that.
