We have a " t-shirt" day at our school every year. Anyone could wear whatever t-shirt they wanted, as long as it wasn't obscene, etc.. I wore a t-shirt with a rock band on it. Last tear I wore the same shirt. Ok. So I walk into class and everyone (about 30 students) and the teacher are laughing at me. I say "What's so funny?". The teacher said "We had a bet that you would wear the t-shirt with that rock band on it." I just said "Oh". and forgot about it. I was not bothered by it at all, just puzzled.
Now I'm thinking, was this at all appropriate? I mean the teacher is supposed to teach the subject, not have laughs at the expense of one student in from of the whole class. Am I right? If so should this teacher be fired?
Any teachers here? Was thisnot appropriate?

The teacher was wrong to engage students in any way that doesn’t involve math. Teachers should never form any type of relationship with any student, moreover, teachers should not notice anything about their students, other than to get them in trouble for gum chewing, dress code, etc.
Fortunately for the teacher, yesterday’s lesson was on probability. -
You have been bullied, sir. File a grievance, and if that goes nowhere, file a lawsuit. You were WRONGED!
-
Are you always the last to arrive?

I guess all those students that wear the same school uniforms every day are also wronged? Get a life.

I'm going to give you a solid 5/10, OP. I've been debating between a serious response demeaning you, and the entire millennial generation, or calling this out as a troll thread. So I'm assuming that was mission accomplished for you, OP, good job.

Shut up, nerd. -
Normally I am earlier than most, but this time I was last or close to it.

I always thought this song was about the starter at a local track meet.
The OP deserves more than a 5/10; it’s got STEM, millineal angst, homo eroticism, team dynamics and a kickass rock band. Definitely a 7/10. -

You are completely wrong. Most teacher evaluations have sections about student relationships and "getting to know them". THis requires you engage with them in and out of the classroom. Attending dances, coaching and other things. Being a robot that teaches math suggestion is dumb and you are out of touch.
I am sure that if the teacher ignored you then you would complain also. OP sounds like a little whiner. -
If it actually bothered you, then tell the teacher. If it didn't bother you, then who cares? The teacher probably isn't 'out to get you' and will never do something like this again if they know it made you upset. No one should get in trouble over this, unless you talk to the teacher and things like this continue to happen.

If he's in high school right now he's not a millennial. -
I'm a teacher. The teacher had every right to call you out and have a laugh at your expense. Grow some b**ls and move on

When I was in high school, I used to road and mtn bike a lot. So we had a similar day. I came in wearing my expensive jersey that I had custom made along with expensive bike shorts, and I got told to put some clothes on... well15 minutes of telling the principle that I wasn't violating anything, they finally gave in. I also told them I would've made it news, at least locally if they didn't lay off.
Heck, for what it was worth, I even carried my helmet around with me all day to promote safety awareness.
After thinking about it that evening, I had to inquire... so the next day I asked to speak with the principle, and asked why it was such a big deal? The principle said, it will make people uncomfortable if you wore spandex bike shorts.
I came back with: Do ya really think I wanted to wear those all day?! Sitting is one thing, but walking around? I told them that it was more of an inconvenience to me, than to anyone else. Then when I told them how much that gear was, they were like, holy $##T. I also asked, what's the different when I throw this same gear on before and after school, than me just keeping it on all day? No one has a problem with it then. Everyone knows and sees me in this crap all the time.
The principle came back with the ubiquitous remark of: "Well, you got a point."
So the following year, I did it again, and no one bothered me...
At the end of the day, it wasn't the that anyone felt uncomfortable, except for the "administration". The principle probably didn't like a male student walking around school in a professional uniform that cost more than his suit and tie... -
Why did you type any of this?
