Tuohy won't be winning nationals next year because my son/daughter will. He/she will be getting a full ride to Stanford when he /she runs 4:15 in the 1600 this junior year. Do I just tell the HS coach that he wants to enter the girls' races? I assume the first time that he does, he will be in Milesplit also as a girl. Real girls are done. Goodbye Title IX.
How many times has this ever happened? Probably never. And you must be on hormone therapy for a while to transition, so you’re son probably won’t win crap.

So, just because some thing hasn't happened means that it won't happen? Is that what you're saying?
It's so strange that it has not happened yet
4:25 guy. Can't afford to go to University, but wants to go. He challenges the "requirement" for hormonal therapy because it infringes on his/her rights.
Several states provide new birth certificates with only a doctor’s note, no hirmone therapy, drugs, or surgery. Just an 18 year old dude who ran 4:15 telling the doc that he decided to live as a woman. The dude registers with the ncaa as a woman and has a birth certificate to prove it. There are no other requirements at that point.
We used to call that cheating.
Well if they undergo any drug testing by NCAA (which can happen at an NCAA competition or randomly at your institution), then they would test positive for excessive testosterone levels. I don't know the specifics of one individual but I imagine it depends in large part how a person is biologically born and subsequently goes through puberty.
Fcking stupid

You know there will be more coming out of high school. How will anyone monitor them if they have a sex change and hormones and have their birth certificate changed?
Well apparently, the Letsrun police have it covered! And you can be sure they'll do it in the most thoughtful way possible!
It’s awfully brave of CeCe to put themselves out there and be the first.
If only Jenner had been born 50 years later, we probably would have had only one NCAA decathlon record. Would he have been able to compete in the olympics as a woman?
I believe you mean “Caitlyn” and she would have unified the Multi records! What an amazing feat!
The Title IX interpretation has been that an equal number of scholarships needs to be provided to men and women. If a 4:40 HS 1600 guy can get hormone therapy for a year and then get a full ride scholarship, I hope guys and girls both sue the NCAA for Violation of Title IX because the girl is getting a scholarship taken away by a guy and the guy who runs 4:30 and gets no scholarship is being treated unfairly because he doesn't want hormone therapy. It just feels like we are in a weird experiment in Nazi Germany. What if the NCAA requires all guys to take EPO in order to get a scholarship and someone refuses? It has come up many times; the logical endstate is that there will be only one gender category in athletics.
And I bet you'll enjoy being a shovenistic prick. CeCe has the biggest heart that you will EVER meet. SHE is accomplishing her dreams while dealing with negative backlash such as yours. SHE has the right to continue to do what SHE loves.

A senior, has the national lead D1 in the 55h, .35 off the national lead in the 60h. Only the protests of women will put a stop to this kind of blatant unfairness. A year of hormone therapy and reassignment surgery do not create a level playing field when there have been about 21 years of testosterone creating greater muscle mass, height, skeletal density, etc.
Is this person eligible to compete in D1? Will this person transfer? What are the USATF and IAAF rules?
I for one think it is amazing that a woman (Jenner) won the 1976 Oly Decathlon against a field of men!
He says that he always was a woman so he should be DQed for competing against men while he was a woman.
