And the why as to why each transferred? And the when? Are you contending those aren't relevant?

Sounds like Tara is the problem, her teammate told the truth. Merry Xmass and good riddensTara.
merry Christmas from the Davis Family. It’s a joy to have the support of family and friends. We hope everyone has a blessed holiday!
Tara can't compete without consent. Courtney could compete without objection. There is a big difference. For grad students, the school has 7 days to object or it is approved. There is no consent required.

Thanks, I've been trying to figure this out, I think I'm getting it now.
So transferring and hoping your school doesn't have an objection and does nothing = not diva.
And transferring and hoping your school doesn't have an objection and releases you = diva
I believe it. This anonymous insider reporting seems to show a lapse in judgment by both Tara and coach Kyprianou
In 1978, a 6'7", 260lb. First Sergeant presided over an army boot camp experience in Alabama. His first remarks covered his "ass out" policy. If you screwed up your ass was out. Easy to understand and nobody wanted to test his resolve.
Petros doesn't have an "ass out" policy it seems. Staff and athletes alike had to deal with a world class prima dona if the comments are truthful. NCAA team titles are frequently won by 5 or less points. Tara represented the potential difference between a shiny ring or runner up status. So let's just deal with all the nonsense.
The First Sergeant would have personally poured concrete in her locker, kicked her off the team, and assigned the Ops person to assist with her transfer paperwork. Good order and discipline, baby. That said, great respect for the classy, hard-working nature of the student athlete that UGA track almost uniformly puts on the field. Coach Kyprianou generally hammers out home runs in that regard.
Rule #1: Don't embarrass the family.
No you don't get it. Non-Divas sign an NLI and compete at a school until they graduate. Then they graduate and have a decision to make. Do they get a job or go to grad school or maybe go pro if fast enough? I decided to get a job but certainly wouldn't have been a Diva if I had researched grad schools and decided to run another at the school of my choosing. It's like calling someone a Diva after graduating from high school because they decide not to hang around as the volunteer assistant coach.
I don’t have an opinion on whether Davis is a diva, but your are clearly glossing over a variety of key differences between the two situations that many have pointed out, either out of intentional obfuscation or lack of intellect.
So you sign the NLI with the intent of not fulfilling a 4(or 5) year commitment that it entails?
Still struggling with this.
Also someone mentioned Frerichs following a coach? Who was that? Does that make it ok to transfer? These rules are confusing on who is a diva and who isn't.
You are trying to be difficult or you are really dense. You think an athlete should be required to pursue a masters degree at their college instead of getting a job? You have lost all credibility.

You guys are being dense in not acknowledging that there is some similarity in the situations. Are they exactly the same? No. But they are similar and neither is a diva.
Plus athletes do transfer before they graduate and do not have to sit a year, they can do this once if their first school allows it. Not every athlete that has done this is a diva.
Do you honestly think all these grad transfers happen just cause the athletes are done with school? No they are transfering because they want to leave and find a way to hurry up their degree to accommodate it. The grad transfers that happen in Football are ridiculous, somehow football players doing a grad transfer after 2 years...
But it's a rule that is allowed so they take advantage of it.
Tara made a choice. The coach passive aggressively did something that could be perceived as making him look good and understanding but also made it harder on Tara to transfer. None of this makes Tara a diva. Does wanting to compete make her that? No. I'm going to guess when they decided to look into transferring they are aware there is a chance she will have to sit, but also know there is a chance she won't. Does wishing for the most positive outcome of 2 options make one a diva?
The current Georgia back up QB is going to do the same thing except he won't even bother asking for a release, he'll just win his hardship hearing because someone in the stands at the game called him an N word. That's in football where they don't even allow a 1 time transfer exception like they do in Track/XC.
Thanks for pointing that out. You are correct that this didn’t make her a Diva. Aha already was one and this is consistent with that.
Very intellectually lazy to try to paint all transfers as being the same situation. I don't respect your approach.
Never said they were the same situation. Just that both are following allowable transfer rules.
Correct. You compared two very different situations on the basis that they are both transfers, as if that is the only similarity that matters, which is intellectually lazy and an approach I do not respect.

Well I'm sorry, if you aren't intellectually smart enough to compare two different situations and see the very similar comparability then you must be someone who is hard to have conversations with.
What did you mean by "The tweet by the coach is separate from all of this, but it should show a certain behavior that could have possibly sparked the move" then?
The way I read it is a really condescending way to say the coach is massive jerk.
As many posters have apparently pointed out to you, merely both being transfers doesn't make these situations "very similar". It doesn't even take someone "intellectually smart" to see this laziness on your part.
I would be willing to bet that this is the boyfriend, not the father. But if this is the father, now I understand why Tara loves attention - she takes after you!
