she just needed a break... she'll be back running well in 2019/2020 seasons

Guys, you realize all of this is pointless right? VERY reliable word is that the Dartmouth women party HARD, and she LOVED partying with them. That's why she's going there. And to get an education. Running will be a hobby. And she's already accepted it.
-
Oh, yeah, take it from me, an insider. Believe whatever I post on LetsRun. Claudia is going to Dartmouth to become a cleric. None of that party atmosphere stuff. Nope, instead, the long, cold winters will be conducive to introspection, leading to a theological education that is second to nun.

Maron.

It’s amazing how quickly these top runners fall.

One of the problems with both running websites, and social media is that these young kids feel the pressure from all of their success. Before all of these things you may have been a local star, but in general no one really knew who you were. Now it is all around them. I am sure it is difficult to stay away from letrun and all of the other sites. We all have a desire of belonging, and wanting to be accepted.
I get the pros it is there choice to do this for a living. But as far as both high school and college athletes go these sites should do all they can to keep the negative post off of the site.
It is a lot of drama, but she isn't the first runner to experience a series of injuries. She is also a talented runner, is attractive and comes from a wealthy family. She is extremely blessed.
I doubt if any criticism comes from her classmates, but is only from social media, including morans that post on LR. I'm an old guy and can't understand the obsession with social media. From her perspective, if she didn't read it, it wouldn't exist.
But she’d still have to put up with dirty old perverts like you that have obsessions with pubescent US white runners. You make me sick.
The point was making was that she has a lot to be thankful for and doesn't need to feel like a victim. Your take was that I'm a pervert. I didn't say that she is "hot" and how do you know whether I lust for black, Asian and foreign teenagers as well.
I know you meant well, and I’m not trying to dig at you, but should people you don’t find to be attractive not be as thankful as Claudia Lane should be? -
Love the fact that you are staying touhy is vexing coached right. That girl is so over worked for a pre pubescent kid it’s amazing. It’s clear lane had nutritional problems by junior year and got the support she needed to get healthy to survive in life - lettjngher body grow - and she is content with being the new her and not being judged by message board hero’s... hopefully Kaitlyn also allows for development before she chases some Olympic trials standard ...

Oh, if it were so. 40-50 percent get in because of who their Daddy is. Often smart, yes--smart people often begat smart kids. But unbridled meritocracy it ain't. There are a hundred thousand "elite" scores on SAT's and ACT's every year. And about 1 in 20 of those goes to an Ivy. The other seats are filled by legacies who are often not elite-other than to the manor born.
Those "ranges" of SAT scores you see--the 1450s aren't kids off the street. They're the kids of white house cabinet members and senators. The 1600s are the lottery winners from Peoria, and yes, a few very smart members of the landed gentry -but they don't go through the lottery.
I think the pendulum is about to swing. We've had Ivy Leaguers running this country since Bush the first. I'm guessing we'll go back to the "plain folks" that populated the white house between Roosevelt and Bush-with the 1000 day exception of Camelot in 1961-63.
The bribery case that's unfolding is the tip of the iceberg.

You failed to mention the most important thing that allowed her to get into Dartmouth..Brains. Ivies don't look at financials or looks when admitting kids.
When you see a top runner headed to a good school you know they are the whole package. At the end of the day you still have to get through admissions no matter how fast you are. -
I agree, thanks for sharing this and your words on here!
As for the people on here that are not supportive...
I am so tired of all the negativity surrounding athletes who didn't live up to the expectations of non-understanding viewers... Have you experienced everything she has? Do you REALLY know what happened, what is happening, or what is going to happen? No... You don't at all.
Do you really know what is in the best interest for Claudia. Do you even know her?
Get some perspective, you are not going to find happiness putting down a young woman who is doing the best she can improving the different aspects of her life!
She is the only one who knows what is right for her. -
The best days are definitely NOT behind her. She is constantly spreading so much love into this world. Is there nothing better that you can do rather than bullying a teenager. I am deeply disturbed. Unfortunately your words can impact others. Don’t you want to follow in Claudia’s footsteps and be kind? She is an outstanding runner—but that’s such a small part of who she is. She is kind and prioritizes others in front of herself. Take a moment to reflect on your words and choose better ones. Let’s uplift youth and encourage them to be the best that they can.

Also how much do you even know about running?? I doubt sitting at your computer all day posting disturbing comments about a young girl is helping you get any better. Get up off your butt and run a little and STOP WASTING YOUR TIME BULLYING TEENAGERS. Don’t comment about someone’s weight. You know what you’re doing. Just because you are gaining weight sitting at your computer all day eating chips doesn’t mean she is wtf. Maybe if you went outside and ran like she does there would be less hate in this world too :)

Let’s start a chain of positive messages about Claudia to support young women. Maybe if they see nice messages about her then they won’t be afraid of chasing their dreams!

Lol, are you in love or something? I'm quite sure Claudia and other young women don't want to read "positive messages" from creepy dudes like you. -

Bumping an old, forgotten thread that you perceive as negative, thereby giving it more exposure, and starting a new thread with a weird tone on a public board that would probably embarrass anyone seems like an odd way to send positive messages. -
Most of us know nothing about her outside of running. Her running career is a shame. Many were arguing that her career was not over which is all that we care about on a running website. Her personal life should not be relevant.
