As opposed to... say... running 26.2 miles. Which is not contrived at all.
The first marathons were 40 km events. Then it went to 42.2 km, and has remained that way because of 'tradition,' just so that finish could end in front of the Queen of England's royal box, so she wouldn't have to mingle with the little people, is not contrived in any way ... right.
Thanks for the updates everyone, good read.

The event has stronger historical routes than the marathon. How far can one travel by foot in a single day's time. There's a beautiful simplicity to the event which has been contested since the mid 19th century.

None of those compete with your level of ignorance.
Congrats, Jaguar1! ?
How is any running distance simpler than any other? Stop being ridiculous, people. Good for Camille and congrats on her record.
Kind of hard getting excited over jogging, though, hard as it may be. Definitely not an spectator's event.
We’re just simple, sun-worshiping folk. Every day is a blessing. This day is just #1.

Congrats Camille!
And great coverage by Jamil...I was able to follow at intervals from the beginning and woke up to her WR. Can't wait to get to AZ this winter.
That's amazing! Congratulations Jaguar1! Pretty cool to see another one of our longtime posters do something like this.
Black page worthy? I say yes. Brojos, make it happen.

This was the the first response post on this thread. It shows what seriously idiotic twats infest this board at almost all times. A former LRC regular just set a WORLD MF RECORD. Jaguar1 did the rest of us (that aren't twats) proud.
Big middle finger to all of the pre-race limpdix.
yea such a nice jog , this is equal to a 16min 5k loser
BTW her mark puts her #7 on the all-time combined U.S. men/women's list. Mike Morton has the record at 172 miles, and greats such as Jon Olsen, Scott Jurek and Pete Kostelnik are just ahead of Camille.
Courtney Dauwalter had the old U.S. mark of 159 miles. Courtney dropped @59.9 miles yesterday. It was the first matchup between two of the sport's best (to be fair Courtney was feeling the effects of a huge yer of breakthroughs and was gracious in her bow-out).

How does it feel to be a crusty and pustulent human bunghole every morning you wake up in your mom's basement?
It’s equal to...no woman who’s ever lived.

leaving ^you6 160 miles short of the finish line
Half-court heave at the buzzer to win Ultra Runner of the Year?
“Nice shot!” Crowd goes wild...

Real slow now:
You can MAKE UP records in the ultra world.
Dean Karnazes did it more than once.
Camille's achievements are extraordinarily, but in the same way a kid who can masturbate for 24 straight hours without starting a fire in his bedroom is impressive. No one is really ever gonna care much here.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
