I'd like to do run in some XC races next year to break up the monotony of the road race scene. I'm having trouble finding many races that are have an Open division.
Any LR folks have any info?

Where are you looking? Directathletics has some open college meets. The best open meets I know of are the us xc championship and the living history farms xc race. How good other races are depend on where you live, ie would you travel to boston for a 8k xc race if you lived in california.
Yeah, I should have proof read my post... I didnt specify a region. I'm in the SE, would just like to do 1 or 2 races per mo in the fall and then hit the USA XC championships.
Dude, check out the USATF. There's usually a series.

USATF XC has proper competition.
Yeah, I looked there but there wasn't much info or many events beyond the championship races. Also I found their website to be really bad.
There are races in the NE and NY that are fairly competitive. Obviously not convenient for you. If relocating for the fall is possible check out Greater Rochester Track Club, Syracuse Chargers and Syracuse Track Club (Felder Syracuse) plus Boston area races.
