Agreed, this is excellent news. Maybe we'll get to see race coverage again and top times at all levels, like a few years ago. If it works, this could be a model for local runners taking back races from a corporate owner that is ruining them.
Because your an athlete that has run at the highest level does not mean you have any idea of how manage a race. It's far different than showing up on the starting line, doing a little race PR and attending a post race awards ceremony.
Carlsbad has been tired for years, let's see if Meb has the capability to reinvigorate the race.
Race coverage, TV etc. takes money to have a production team and buy the time on TV, different skill set for 99.9 of race organizers.
