With different shoe sponsorships, who and how does Joe get paid? Is 10% still the going rate for coaching elites with good contracts?
Buffs are coming home to roost
Coach marries already successful athlete
Coach starts to coach already successful wife
Coach recruits other athletes to come train with wife
Other athletes join because they think success is based on husband's coaching (it's not)
After joining, other athletes realize that coach prioritizes coaching the wife over coaching other athletes
Wife continues to perform while other athletes are injured/under-perform
Other athletes leave coach

Except the opposite happened

This is literally a thread about athletes joining the coach.

Don't worry, I'll dig this thread up after Olympic Trials in 2020.
Why did Cory McGee leave New Balance Boston
I'm pretty sure every member of the group who was active in 2018 (so praught, Scott, Edwards, and coburn) set a personal best in at least one event this year.
Arguably Praught had the best year, winning Commonwealths, and setting 1500m, 3000m, and 3000sc PBs/NRs, while Coburn lost her AR to Frerichs in Monaco.
3/10

So how much?
What standard for “unspsonsored” clubs like Bossard/Gary/Tinman?

Probably because Abbey left Boston and Cory needed a change of scenery

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they all thought, when presented with this opportunity some way or another, "I could live at altitude and train with Emma?" Pro athletes are generally more capable than, say, a high school kid at directing their own training if need be. Some only need coaches to give them a "nudge" in the right direction every now and then, as opposed to the strict oversight of a high school kid every day.
This whole separation between Laura and Lee is weird. I never got along with Lee but his biggest criticism by the team is that he focused too much time with Laura at the detriment of the rest of the group. Weird that she didn’t see it that way.

Think you forgot about Praught's career rising from the ashes and Kaela's pr's in 800/1500 since joining the group in 2017. Does this ruin your narrative, or does your anger and bitterness now burn even brighter?

How's Brooks Beasts and the NorCal Distance Project doing these days?
Smart choice. I’m sure much of this group will be running 115–120 miles per week.
Oh wait, NEVERMIND.
Numerous high level female runners with big personality. Personal dynamics will be the downfall of this group. Save this post.

Lee went through the same process as Brad... with a slightly different outcome... getting old is a motherfvcker...
you guys forget to think about basic stuff sometimes: Life quality. Training is a monotonous tough existence, and this group is genuinely making the best of it.
Let's say all of these athletes can continue being professional athletes....
Even if they don't improve much, the Bosshard group looks a hundred times more fun and supported than other training groups. Follow Dom Scott/Praught-Leer/Coburn/McGee on instagram and compare their posts to other pros, and they are definitely more down-to-earth and fun than almost everyone else in USA distance running. (Houlihan looks like she's enjoying life too I admit...)
They have family support where Emma's dad basically built gave them a house with a huge gym. There is altitude, Colorado is a better state than almost all others, and the trails!!!
Try to think about training your butt off every day and not having fun people around you. It'd be incredibly difficult. They have a good group and people keep going there, so it must be a valuable place to be. Leer is involved and provides his insights, a bunch of incredibly NCAA athletes with experience and their old coaches wisdom to impart. It sounds great to me.
Plus, the coach is faster than all of them so he can help them train if necessary.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read.

You clearly don't know them. Most of them have been friends outside of running for many years.
