Great job- Not easy having to focus hard all day(elementary school) making sure the kids don't stick their fingers in the outlets, step in front of a moving car at dismissal, dont piss on the floor, etc.... but it's worth it. Mentally I'm drained after 330 PM and then move to my part time job as an instructor at the college, but overall it's a good quality of life. To be a good teacher is tough, to be mediocre is easy. I've worked in about 4 different schools in my career ( one of largest urban districts in the country) and I always found that even if you have kids who are tough and the school is title 1, if you have a good principal who isn't afraid of parents and society, you are golden. Leadership is everything in schools and it's tough to find leaders who earn their paycheck.
