Dillon Breen is a San Diego guy. Some of us will give him a hard time about someone thinking Dillon is a girl's name.
Two men are registered as women.
Maybe they identify as women? Non-binary? I won't judge.
Bates masters 'thon!
Feel bad for Matt. But what an effort by Brogan Austin
Ahhh LRC never lets me down in the slightest.
Great run my Matt. Really not a Stinson collapse. He held on for 2nd. If he had anyone up with him who knows if the race would'be gone differently. Bates still running well & my hard to believe position is that we can comment on her running without talking about her appearance which in turn makes me a SJW or something. I gladly accept that premise and that ya'll need to check yourselves.

Austin just ran a 15:08 5k. Llano has to go!!!!!!!!!
Obviously, Llano couldn't go. Can someone who watched the race give a quick summary of what happened at the end?
Never heard of Brogan Austin. He wasn't mentioned in Letsrun's preview.

Must be a harddoper
NewtotheSouthSide, this woman thanks you for being a gentleman. (though anything less than gross pervert on this board is a plus...and rare)

His name is Austin Brogan
Brogdan seems pretty dope. He doesn't seem to be a college standout but just got better & better on the roads. Ran 1:02-high at Indy Half in November.
Top-10 under 2:14. Looks to be 54 OTQs. Some very close missed. Of note, Bromka ran 2:19:40.

He ran low 29s I think in college for the 10k while running for Drake. Lives in the Des Moines area. He won my local Turkey trot last week with a 24:19 5 mile tempo.
Great finish. Matt Llano led almost the entire way, but he paid for going out aggressively (1:05:13) and began to struggle over the final 10k. He led by 1:02 at 30k but Brogan Austin closed like a freight train and passed him with half a mile to go.
Incredibly, Austin was still 1:56 behind Llano at 35k, but he ran 2:06:40 pace from there to the finish to get the win. Austin's previous PR was 2:24:39 from the 2016 Olympic Trials (his only previous marathon).
He showed his potential with a 62:39 win at the Monumental Half Marathon in Indianapolis last month. He is coached by Tom "Tinman" Schwartz.
