The picture is 3.5 years old, Reh is leaner now. But a comparison is not sensible because while Klosterhalfen might be too thin, she obviously is naturally a very lanky type (like McColgan or Radcliffe), which is not true of Reh.
Some years ago before Klosterhalfen stepped into the spotlight Reh was the german supertalent. Back then she won eyery race by big margins and set a lot of national youth records. The following years unfortunately she had some injuries which prevent her from competing at her best. One year ago I saw her in a race in Darmstadt against Klosterhalfen even beating her! She is an extremely gifted natural athlete and there is a lot to come from her in the longer distances. Together with Klosterhalfen she represents the new german girlpower in middle- and longdistance running. Take care of these two girls – they will take 'em all!

I hanged out with KK at St Moritz track this summer. I was wearing Team USA gear and could tell she wanted to live The American Dream.
While I have my doubts about this post, the truth is many Western countries that produced great runners back in the 1960s-1980s are unliveable nowadays for an elite runner, whereas America still has niche locations for runners to live: Flagstaff, Oregon and Boulder, not to mention the University Campuses.
3:58 and 14:51; of course the next level is drugged. What would you expect?
great. now like hasan and farah, more europeans will tie up with a great coach while american athletes will continue to spend their time finger pointing at our more successful american atheletes and their followers will whip themselves into a fury by their callous remarks. Sounds like the recent election.
Well, that is a very difficult question indeed. First of all I pray to God that this girl never gets in touch with any drugs. The most important is, that she will stay injury free and healthy in the future. Her potential is enormous and seems to be unlimited. She is the youngest woman on the planet having broken 2 for the 800m, 4 for the 1500m and 15 for the 5000m.
Great duel:

NOP seems to be attracting lots of women who some believe might be too thin. Jordan Hasay, Sifan Hassan and now perhaps KK.

Seriously?
Lance Armstrong for example.
No example can ever prove our point unless you have all elite athletes in the world. A single counter example kills your case. By overstating your case you end of with no case at all.
Well, there goes her career, down the tubes

Unique talent. She's at the critical point in her career, recovering from injury. Entrusting her to NOP is a move of desperation.
Sure hasn't worked out for Sifan Hassan or Suguru Osako.

Goodness! She's just going to end up with a load of stress fractures like Hasay.
How has Amy Cragg been doing? Emily Infield? Colleen Quigley for most of last year? Elites get hurt; maybe more women than men.
jamin you are stupid.
wishing the best for KK at NOP.

If one looks a KK's progression it is not as miraculous as with some others, especially if one takes into account that until 2015 she was mostly an 800/1500m runner and ran supposedly rather low mileage.

Mccolgan might be lanky, but she's not skeletal.
Man, look at wind dogs, they are the prototypes for us runners. Look at Seb Coe at his prime, he was really thin and is still the fastet white man over 800m.
Could we skip the comments on weight and figure? She has been looking like this for about 6 years now (since becoming somewhat known as top 3 under 18 over 800/1500 in Germany at about 16 in 2013), has never had any stress fractures and her only serious injury in that whole time was runner's knee that has little to do with her low weight. There simply is nothing new here.
She obviously is naturally thin, she would have gone by now if she had an eating disorder. What I find worrying, is the push among young girls in Germany to try and be as skinny as she is, even sports journalists and certain coaches believing that a stick figure is necessary. Gesa Krause was called fat by a stupid sports journalist last year - that's a misguided perception being perpetuated.
