If I could tell everybody one thing about my son’s recruiting experience it is that you CAN NOT wait for coaches to contact you. You MUST MUST MUST contact the schools you want to go to, period!

That's one thing that I make sure to.
If there is one, that’s what do too but only if that’s why like you also.
I dropped a 4:16 and only one decent coach emailed me wtf. What gives? I'm a freaking junior so you know I'm going to be even faster soon. If these coaches don't wake up they're the ones missing out.
Fast,
Coaches have only so much time. If I were a coach and I had on my checklist, "recruit a 4:15 guy", which of these athletes are most likely to want to come to my school?
1. The 4:15 guys that have contacted me by email.
2. The 4:15 guy that took a campus tour with his family on his own dime
3. The 4:15 guy that took a tour, met with me, had lunch with some guys on the team, and then bought a school t-shirt.
4. The 4:15 guy who is waiting for a phone call.
Some other 4:15 kid is in contact with State U and State U will be putting their efforts into recruiting him.

I would expect they at minimum call or email me. I'm not spending coin to go see anyone unless there is something in it for me.

I would have thought some D-2 programs would have called your A.D. or T&F coach by now?
In my humble opinion your times are excellent but just not exceptional *enough* to attract unsolicited attention. Nothing wrong with you stepping up and selling yourself a little bit. Send some letters, emails out there. Show a bit of training and racing history that shows improvement trend.
My son ran 4:13 his junior year and the only unsolicited contacts he received were from D3 coaches. He filled out about 50 online firms and still only received contacts from about 10 of those coaches. 40 of the other D1 coaches did not even respond. Did I mention he scored 35 on his ACT which went on every one of the questionnaires also? Don’t think the process will be easy.
