15:52, took home the win. My pre-race day prep of Chick-Fil-A, Dr.Pepper, and BBQ propelled me to the victory. Outkicked some noobs.

30:45... 5k. Middle of my age group 60-69.
Stayed home and ran 5 miles with the dog. 14:21 won in Charleston. I may have gotten 50th place had I raced.
Didn’t run in a turkey trot but went out to watch the one in downtown Orlando. There were 4 very dashing men that were all within one second of each other around 15:51. Was a great race to watch but the winner looked very strong just from the looks I’m assuming he does well in the last department. All in all though none of the top 4 will have any problem stuffing their turkey this evening ;)
40:09 for 5.3 mile race, 1st in 50-54 age group, weather was perfect in the midwest
32:42 for 5 miles, 2nd overall female. 157 ft elevation gain and lots of turns.
10 easy miles by myself in the forest. It was glorious!
More than 3,000 people ran/walked the LA Turkey Trot 5k. The results were surprisingly slow. Results were listed by net times rather than gun times.
The winning time was 16:39.
Only 24 people went sub-20.
Only 15 people went sub-19.
Only 7 people went sub-18.
The big shockers:
Only 479 people went sub-30.
Only 148 people went sub-25.
always 2nd place wrote:
16:27 for 2nd.... kinda disappointing since the 10k was won in 36 and i always chose the wrong distance. last year i ran the 10k and 34:20 got me 2nd, while the 5k was won in 18+.
Maybe you lost because you focused too much on the other race, and not beating the guy in your race.
didn't run. 60 minutes ez with hill sprints. No shin pain, thankfully, but now my plantar is tight so whatever.
I ran 18:07 to take 11th place overall and 2nd in the 13-19 age group. It was a 5K PR, too, as the fastest I ran during XC season was 18:44.

Nice! These road races sure are faster than most any X-C course. No races anywhere near where I live. Did 12 X 800 @ HMP as I'm in tail end of marathon base prep.
38:07 10k for 3rd place. Very pleased with it. I was expecting something in the 38:40-39:00 range because I had to miss 3 weeks due to a knee injury and have only been running for a month since then.
Congratulations to all even those who misreported their time and place.
Turkey Club Sandwiches for lunch
18:51, 23rd OA, 1st AG (50-54)
14:18 5km to win by a mile. Damn I have a sweet stride too, to go with my good looks.

What!? I ran a 5k recently and came 163rd, in 17:20 (masters runner). The quality in the US sucks.
I kicked off my sweats and put on my 3" shorts. I warmed up with 5x18m strides and dynamic lunges, all the while keeping my eye out for the fast guys so I could stare at them and win the very important psychological battle. I saw some fat waster drinking kool-aid talking to a few MILF's, I presume it was Jamin, he looked weird.
I toed the line, making one last effort to visualize my dominance over the trotters, reeling them in and smashing them as I glide to victory.
The gun (fog-horn) went off and I quickly got to goal pace, on the first bend there was a bunch of emaciated vegan protesters, one banner read 'Free Turkey (the animal not the country), I got a tear in my eye. I shook it off and focused on the task at hand. There was an age-group 55+ lady in front of me, so I drafted her for 100 yards or so, then took her out, my speed dazzling her so much that she tripped and fell into hot dog and coke. She had a t-shirt on that read 'Disco Gary is the Gravy'.
Six hundred meters in and I was feeling the burn, my Pegasus 12's were laced too tight and the cold was making my eyes water. I dug in. I gritted my teeth. I fought harder than I'd ever fought before. The rest of the race was a Utopian blur of endorphines and adrenaline. It was as if God herself was carrying me to the finish line.
168th from 201 runners. Age group 45th from 49 (two places behind Scorpion Runner, Smoove won).
Clearly, the Lydiard Canova inspired hybrid plan that Coach JS had written me (for a paltry $300) had worked.
I am a runner. I run. I am run.
19:55, 3rd place out of 1700. PR in the 5K ,and last mile was also PR, 6:07. 47 yrs old
Got heckled warming up too..."you're crazy for wearing shorts, you are going to be freezing"
Dude had gloves, hat, and sweatshirt, tights. One of those arrogant F3 guys.
20:33, won the 60+ age group. Have never raced in the cold (low 20s) like that -- strange not to break a sweat in an all out effort.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
