Rowbury's Baby is about 4 mos old which means she has been training for only 2 mos. 16:44 is a great time for her.

I'm still shocked that women can even run.

Good opener for Rowbury ! I would of predicted around 16:30 but this is ok .
Can we all admit that this result should just make us all be BLOWN AWAY be Gwen Jorgensen's 15:15 earlier this year.
178 days -amount of time between Gwen Jorgensen giving birth and her running a lifetiem pb of 15:15 at 5000.
145 days - amount of time that has passed between Rowbury's birth and her race today.

That’s almost a month difference and track is faster than roads.

That race doesn’t count. It’s downhill.

On the track , you don’t have to pass people dressed as Winnie the Pooh .
I’m going to start an OFFICIAL Track vs. Road thread. Stay tuned.
Tuohy would destroy all of these women

I would of agreed. She could of run faster, if she’d of tried a bit harder.

Which is truly the only thing you need to say about the first rustbuster race back after giving birth. Every pregnancy is different, every birth is different, some recoveries are far easier than others, and you can bet the typical professional female runner isn't going to give the public a play-by-play of whatever perineal tearing, pelvic floor issues, round ligament problems etc. they are managing post-pregnancy (the way they might address or admit to a sore achilles or a hamstring niggle). Comparing one woman's post-birth 5K to another's in the first six months, even year, after giving birth is essentially useless -- too much variation to account for.

Fake news. Did you literally not read my response to Dunes? I said that it’s downhill, so it doesn’t count. Please go to my OFFICIAL Track vs. Road thread to discus more.
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=9122583Did she wear the clown makeup or has she given that up at last?
Thank you, well said. There's also probably a different dynamic here: Jorgensen is famously in a hurry to get fit and ramp up for her marathon quest (for which time is somewhat short in the scheme of things even for a 2020 target), while Rowbury has plenty of time to get fit before 2020 track, or even 2019 track, rolls around. Maybe she's taking it slowly and enjoying her new baby -- plus she's dealing with a move back to San Francisco and setting up house, etc. In any case, Rojo's comparison is meaningless.

I agree. I was thinking the same thing. Katelyn Tuohy would have won this race and she is 16 years old. I wait for the day that Katelyn races against runners other than high school runners.

The difference? Jorgensen will not improve much (if at all) on her 15:15.

Come on Rowbury just had a baby of course she is not in good running shape (for her), Rowbury has run 3:56 for 1500, 8:29 for 3000 and 14:38 for 5000, Tuohy is A GREAT HIGH SCHOOL RUNNER, but she wont be beating Rowbury's times anytime soon, if ever, I hope she does though the more World Class runners the better, Tuohy is a GREAT PROSPECT, I hope she pans out.
