Kimetto ran the Shanghai Marathon this weekend finishing in 10th place with 2:14:55. His last four years of marathoning since 2014 (when he broke the WR) look like this according to http://tilastopaja.org:
November 2018 - 2:14:55 in Shanghai (10th place)
April 2018 - DNF in Vienna
December 2017 - DNF in Honolulu
October 2017 - DNF in Chicago
April 2016 - 2:11:44 in London (9th place)
December 2015 - DNF in Fukuoka
August 2015 - DNF in Beijing World Champs
April 2015 - 2:05:50 in London (3rd place)
September 2014 - 2:02:57 in Berlin (1st place, World Record)
April 2014 - DNF in Boston
We'll see if races keep recruiting him to run now that he is no longer the current WR holder (he was still the WR holder when it was announced he was racing Shanghai).

After 3 consecutive DNFs, former WR holder Dennis Kimetto has finished his first marathon since April 2016. Guess his time.

he looks over 50 years old.

Good for Dennis Kimetto. I wish i could run a 2:14 marathon. Five DNFs really sucks. Glad he stuck with it, even if it's ten min slower than his PR. He must've still had 2+ miles to go as the clock ticked away at 2:02:57, but still finished.

At the rate he is getting more worse I should be able to beat him in the thon when I move up in 5 or so years

Is this what a Kenyan looks like off the sauce?

Yeah, he was just like our best American marathoners. -

Yes this is a pure organic Kenyon. 100% natural ingredients, fully certified. -

I don't think EPO would give you 12 minutes in a marathon! -

Kimetto's 2:14 in Beijing would surely be something like a 2:10 on a fast course. I assume he also tried to stay with the leaders and blew up, which exaggerates his performance drop.
Diack was arrested in the fall of 2015, wasn't he? -
Wow it must suck to be on the radar of testers.

How many Americans have run faster in the last 5 years? 20-25?
-
I bet barely half that.

Guy beats the world record while juiced out of his fucking mind, gets off the juice and lives off appearance fees while maintaining his legacy intact. This is the smart move.

You guys should give Kimetto some credit for finishing the race. He got injured immediately after setting his then world record and has been injured since. Last year in Chicago you can clearly see him limp before dropping off the race(see at 1:12). He third to the right next to Zersenay Tadese.
