LetsRun really should coach him.
We'll bring JK out of coaching retirement, get a group in Flagstaff and Tokyo 2020 will be guaranteed. Plus his sponsors would get a ton of publicity out of it.
I unironically think that could happen for Parker if he bought into JK’s training. I know some posters were blaming Parker for his lack of success, but why not also the coach? If Parker runs bad, it is because he sucks. If he runs well, Hudson is a genius. It takes two to tango in a coach-athlete relationship.
Look at your relationship with JK. You really trusted him and he did his part to earn your trust. I know in your “Why I sucked in college” piece you talked about the things you did wrong in training...but your coach at the time should have done a better job of identifying your mistakes and help you mature as a runner in training as well. If JK can help a guy like you, then why not Parker?
Honest question since you half-jokingly proposed it. What do you think JK could do with Parker in the marathon by 2020? You know JK better than anyone on here and I wonder what he could have done with half of these elites with stagnating careers that eventually hung it up. Certainly better than our current crop of male marathoners.
