I've been training for 12 weeks for hopefully what will be my first sub 2:30 marathon. With the air quality completely trash with this huge fire, does anyone have a suggestion for another fast marathon within the same time frame? Please help!

Think it will clear out in three weeks? I'm headed to CIM as well.. but I don't know how bad it is in Sacramento currently, and wonder if it will still be lingering when the race arrives.
I'd bet a lot of $$ on CIM NOT being cancelled.
We had fires and smoke over the summer and events were cancelled but i can't recall events being cancelled more than 1 weekend in a row.
All we need is one weather system to come through and it's gone. According to weather.com there is a 40% chance of rain for next tues-fri.

It's only 25% contained currently. If no rain, then it'll still suck in 3 weeks.
Rocket City
Kiawah
If you can extend your training cycle Houston might be a viable option since you are looking to run pretty quick. Not sure of the depth of the other races listed.

probably not. Just because there is a fire north, it doesn't mean that the valley will be filled with smoke. the reason it is so bad right now is because there is only a slight breeze from the north that is pushing the smoke right into the valley. But, if any weather system comes through or there is a standard delta breeze, it would not be this bad.
but it's not that terrible in the mornings. It was pretty clear in folsom on sat morning and i ran yesterday morning and it wasn't that bad either. It's the afternoons that it looks like a low fog is rolling in and you can smell it in your house.
i really don't think CIM will be affected by this.
It's smart to have an alternate in case there's 25mph on shore winds but no smoke. Everyone counting on last year's conditions as sure thing. The number of PR seekers and OTQ chasers is off the chart this year. Lots of tears if conditions don't line up.
HOuston in January
Most of the last 15 years have been good conditions on the same date as last year’s race.
You must be on the early taper. No need to panic yet.
keep the volume higher than normal during the taper, reconsider w/ Jax. Flat and fast. Another- Rohobeth beach, same weekend as CIM but in Delaware
If you can handle waiting another few weeks past the new year, HOUSTON is a great event, flat and fast. However, this is probably not a good ideas it's very far away and redirecting marathon focus can be hard in specific stage
The current smoke will probably be a non-issue by this weekend. Worrying about replacement races because of what's happening now is wasted energy.
Some of the aforementioned marathons are not known for being fast or having great weather. I would keep the faith for CIM or target Houston as a back up. You'll have people to run with in Houston. I would email the RD there now.
San Antonio may have a couple fast runners but it definitely won't be like CIM. I agree with Houston as a fast race where you won't be out there doing a time trial by yourself.
Might be a little late, but Philly is this weekend. A flat course that is sometimes windy. However, Sunday's weather is calling for winds from the NW at only 7 mph, althogh the temperature might be a bit cool from 33° to 48°.
If you have a sub 2:40 marathon now, you might be able to get a free bib:
Right now the smoke might be bad but there is no way of knowing what might be in 3 weeks. One change in wind direction can clear up everything. Here is a real detailed smoke forecast by the NOAA
https://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/hrrr/HRRRsmoke/
(Click on near surface smoke -> loop) for the next 24h.
There is unfortunately not much you can do than wait with these fires. But my bet is that in three weeks this will have mostly cleared up and CIM is happening as scheduled. Especially looking at a 2 week weather forecast it seems the entire next week is having a change of rain and some wind. This should all clear it up and hopefully put out the fires for good.
Houston great race- but the support for sub-elite athletes is full currently and ELITES are "invite only ". They make NO exceptions unless you are very very very elite. I've done the race a couple of times and got in no problem early on as a sub elite A buddy of mine tried switching in with 2 months out and they denied him (218/64 guy)
