So was Jurek, who holds the US 24 hour record (among many other accomplishments).
Jurek held the US 24 hour record for about 2 years before Mike Morton topped Jurek by almost 7 miles.
Great job Zach! This site is getting as bad as Slowtwitch with the hate.

Yiannis Kouros was vegetarian too.
His 100 mile best is 11h 46min 37s .
I believe Kouros mostly sticks to a vegetarian diet, but not completely.
Of great note, he rarely ever raced 100 miles (and when he did, he was racing his competition, not the clock). Most of his fastest 100s were splits in 24 hour races.

Open up your hate, and let it flow into me
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Sage: *Thinks about a 100 mile record attempt*
Zach: Hold my beer ...
Was Sage a vegetarian when he ran his road/track times?
Sri Chinmoy races (longest in the world) only served vegetarian food, which I enjoyed & ran well on (250th fastest all-time 1000-mile, admittedly), but many ordered out for meat sometimes.
The amount of bullying going on against Sage Kennedy is crazy. It makes me look like I don't get bullied here. Sage may not be perfect but he has the cutest couch, couch Sandy.

Jesse, did you ever do a long Australia race?
I still have the 1993 Trans Am t shirt somewhere...

Did you start in the TransAm 93?
So, I helped organize a transcon in Australia in 2001, ran across informally in ‘98. America: we had 4 transcons that I helped, I crossed informally in ‘97. Too old to organize such events anymore, I try to digest the results for others before dementia arrives.

You’re clealry the same poster using different aliases. Why do you feel the need to talk about steaks and Sage? I think you want to get colon cancer and then want Sage to suck it out. Am I right brah?

No...I ran one stage when they hit Ohio: Lewisburg, Ohio to South Vienna. About 52-3 miles.
Did it in 1993 and 1994.
ZACH GOES HOME DEVASTATED!!! Lol lol I’ll ???????
I'm a Sage admirer and think he's a good ambassador for the sport of ultrarunning but I'd have to admit that there is something to be said for the way Bitter just seems to go out and perform without a lot of hoopla or bold proclamations.
However, there is a lot more talk about Sage and even negative attention likely helps his brand. He probably makes more off the sport than Bitter. Hate him or love him Sage is doing what most here never will. Cheers to him.

I remember running with Lorna Michael for a good bit of that 1993 Lewisburg to S. Vienna stage. She was strong.
Also remember going to downtown Columbus the next day to buy Rüdiger Dittmann some shoes. He just gave me the cash.
Talk about “bitter”!
Lorna is a natural! She was still running well in ‘15 when I saw her. Said Trans Am was her “Olympics” moment! I shed few tears about that...

Rüdiger Dittmann is a legend. Only person who officially finished a Trans con and the RAAM.
