Lol what masses of people care about elite 1500 and 5k? The money and fame is in the major marathons. Actually it’s distance running on the track that no one cares about. Oh and check the world rankings on those distances. Outside of one guy named centrowitz the US is a joke too
Lol. You mean the 50000 that pack the stadiums PAYING to see the real running stars run 1500 on a track? Yeah, those masses. Not the millions of lardasses that run marathons in 6 hours and don't know a single top runner.
That's nice, but outside the Centrowitz, the US still has 4 other guys in the the top 50 in the world in the 1500. That's something that's not even close in the marathon. In the 3000, the US is killing it. 3 guys in the top 10 in the world!!!
Who cares about the slow Kipchoge going only 4:40 per mile. That's for runners who NEEDED to move up in distance.
