We are a mid sized school in Illinois. We were 2A until my freshman year where we went to 3A because we were doing really well at the 2a state meet. So we are one of the smallest 3a schools in track. We are 2a in all the other sports to give you an idea.
Mens/Womens
100m: 10.78/ 12.04
200m: 21.55/ 24.34
400m: 47.53/ 55.25
800m: 1:55.04/ 2:14.35
1600m: 4:21(apparently not fat?) 4:28(athletic.net)/ 5:05
Long Jump: 24'0/ 18'4
Triple Jump: 51'1(3a state record)/ 35'10
3200m: 9:37.02/ 11:07
4x200m: 1:30/ 1:46
4×100m 43.03/ 51.09
3 mile(XC): 15:03/16:32
Hold the 3 mile, and 2 mile record. According to athletic.net I hold the mile too but imma just leave it there. Also, the 2 mile record was broken in the 3 mile race for the girls by the same girl who holds the mile and 3 mile record. She won state in xc for 2a. Having a great career. The guy who broke the state record in triple jump is playing football and doing well. I on the otherhand am struggling to transfer out run at the next level :(.
I know for sure I could have ran faster. My problem was that I always had a big load to do in every meet for points. Unfortunately I did that at sectionals and that's probably what cost me my state bid. I was pretty decent in the 400m. A low 53. Should have been doing the 800m or 1600m fresh more often. Oh well.
Just a thought.
A freshman walking into Chula Vista Highschool's gym/locker/track
wherever they keep the Track & Field times on display.
Seeing Tim Danielson's 3:59.4 school record? And I"m
not picking on Danielson to be disrespectful as his time
dates to 1966!
But here's where the is it the chicken or the egg?
Danielson's record is not a physical Chula Vista high school track
record, as that 3:59.4 was run by Danielson with a Chula Vista
high school singlet at Balboa stadium. I think there is a term
for this in the state of California?
Track and Field times should be only those recorded at that
physical location. I think it would encourage more athletes
to compete for their schools. Granted, the young men and woman
who worked hard, to gain those records make it hard for that
freshman who sees an ungodly time thus quashing his/her dream.
Just saying.
800m- 1.48.72
1000m- 2.14.35
(Same guy)
3000m- 7.53
5000m- 13.46
10000m- 28.31 (during high school)
Guess which high school?
Haha, just Kidding!

Are you serious? Only losers would look at it that way. A record is an outlier in definition, let's not water down the sport and it is a sport to the level of participation medals where everyone can win or hold a record.
If anything, having an athlete like Danielson and his 3:59(not him in particular given his crimes) should inspire those in the school. I come from a small town that had an out of proportion number of Olympic athletes in the past. They inspired many kids to run including me.
Do you think the kids in Kenya grow up looking at Kipchoge and think I'll never be that good, I'm not going to try. No, all of the early kenyan champions and greats inspired those kids to run and believe they could do it too. Kids are a lot less damaged than adults, they dream and believe and don't look at the world or possibility like you.

Question... what does the f in t&f stand for? I do not see any field events listed.
Somebody just posted, PV, SP, HJ and Hammer records before you posted. But it's literally letsrun, not throw, jump and vault.

A 4:01 miler couldn't break 9 min for 2-miles?? Did you mean to put 4:10.5 rather than 4:01.5?
