JV kicking past a jogger while you finish your 4 mile route is hardly winning a road a race.
1. Nice handle. Is the "Land if make believe" anything like the "Land of make believe"?
2. You think Mo is JV?
3. I don't think you know how far 8k is.
4. Don't you have homework?

Ok, THAT took a toll on me. Well played :-)
What time would you have to run for you, personally, to not consider yourself a hobby jogger?

If you had come to my house after church, you would have had grilled chicken, quinoa, and green beans.
What would I have had if I didn't go to church?

Meh, not about time. I already consider myself a Hobby Runner (not Jogger), actually. I have been 1st corral at every major marathon I have run in and finish in the top 5% of even the biggest races I compete in. But as long as I am not doing it for a living, it is a hobby, so I don't mind being a little self-depricating (this paragraph notwithstanding, lol).
That being said, I think "real runners" would be sub 16:00, 25:00, 34:00, 1:15:00, and 2:40:00. All "-ish", of course. Personally, I would be thrilled with sub 40:00, sub 1:30:00, and a BQ one day.

Same thing. The blessing just would have been longer :-)

Deprecating. Depricating is what Bruce Jenner did.

I hate cold food.
Would you offer cold beer etc.?
Did you point at the sky and thank the Lord for taking time out of His busy schedule of killing babies in Africa and setting Tsunamis and Hurricanes loose to grant you a win?
I don't find the two mutually exclusive. I dropped the hammer - which I thought went without saying - at which point his doors blew off.[/quote]
Thank you for clarifying. Man, I still have a LOT to learn about dropping the hammer.

Which means you are a fraud or delusional.
But you are entertaining, either way.

Nope, no beer in the house for 10+ years. But I'd be happy to offer you an ice cold La Croix or Dience.

Nope. I turned and gave my vanquished foe a low-five, caught my breath, got a sip, changed shoes, and went on a cool down jog with the 2nd place guy along with the top 2 from the 5k.
Come to think of it, I still haven't.
Thanks, God, for the beautiful morning yesterday. I don't know how much you care about races, God, but I know you care about runners. Thanks for some awesome fellowship, the chance to meet some new people, and just a generally fun morning. Thanks for the ability to run; but more importantly, thank you for Jesus. It's in His name I pray, Amen.

"Depricate" means to pretend to cut your twig-n-berries off and turn yourself into a media whore?

Don't overthink it; just let it flow. It is like a combination of jazz and strangling someone with your bare hands in front of their family.

Can you elaborate? (Maybe I can clarify - the "major marathons" I spoke to above was probably unintentionally misleading. I have run a couple big city marathons with 15-20,000 people, but not like Chicago, NY, DC, or Boston... More like New Orleans, Philly, Nashville. I will admit, I was surprised my times put me that far up front, but as my buddy - a real runner - said, "most people are really slow.")
And thanks :-) I aim to please.

I almost never actually laugh out loud. You made me laugh out loud. Thanks.
Hey, congrats!
I won a small town 5 mile once in about 31:00. (My 5 mile PR is 29:30).
Hey, I ran my total best and I admit I'm not more than a mid-packer but it was thrilling to win a race. I'm sure people here can knock it down, but for that one day it was awesome to be running in the front. It was an out-and-back so I was getting applause from other runners as I headed back to the finish.
I didn't delude myself thinking I was some running star but it was an everyman's fantasy-come-true nonetheless.
So enjoy!!!
1. Do you feel that this was a key tune up race for the turkey trot?
2. Did you wear a visor?
3. Will you get a tattoo to commemorate the victory?
4. Will you return next year to defend your title?
5. Would you rather sweat cheese or cry glue?
6. Will you post a picture? (No homo
