Actually, the question is if the OP is a Nike employee or not? The reality is that the shoes are not banned - they are totally legal and anybody can race in them who forks over all that money. There are plenty of runners willing to take illegal substances to get an advantage and plenty more that will do whatever they can by "legal" methods (L-carnitine anyone?). By arguing that these shoes are so good they should be illegal, it's brilliant - it really only serves to boost the demand and sales. The reality is a lot of runners want an advantage and the sales prove it. These guys have learned from Russian trolls how to get an idea across!
How many people refuse to drink a cup of coffee before a race as they don't want the boost? Buying legal shoes that are so good they should be illegal, that's just good marketing.
