Anyone out there with a subscription to Sports Illustrated, check out this months "Catching up with..." feature. They actually cover a runner. Dyrol Burleson was the second American ever to break 4 minutes for a mile and was, briefly the American record holder in that event with 3:58.6. He competed in two Olympics (60 Rome and 64 Tokyo), but never medaled (sixth and fifth)
I'll admit I'd only vaguely heard of him and knew next to nothing about him. Still it was pretty cool to finally have a runner in that feature.
