Claudia Lane commits to Dartmouth

Strange decision. Her family obviously has some money which makes the cost $70k at Dartmouth. She could have gotten a nice scholarship at Notre Dame or Stanford.
Wondering if she’s feeling done with running
Good for Claudia. While not an elite program or a great program Dartmouth is great school and it will give her many opportunities beyond running and has produced some great athletes like Ben True and Abbey D'Agostino. Best of luck to her!
I wish her the best going forward....weather will be a little different than sunny California though.... I recall walking into the Dartmouth (Indoor) Invitational and it was negative 13 F outside......brisk!

Incorrect. She received zero scholarship offers.

That doesn’t seem very believable? Won FootLocker twice???
Does she want to be a vet? Or just zoology/ecology more generally

How could you fall for that? Of course she received many offers. Come on dude, you've got to be smarter than that!
She's not paying a dime to go to Dartmouth, people. 100% financial aid package.
I didn't pay a dime for my 4 years.

You do realize she lives in Malibu right? not exactly low income.... financial aid at Ivy league schools is based on financial need... I'm not saying shes paying 70k per year but shes certainly not going for free either

LOLLLLLLL she’s from Malibu.
None of us probably really know. But she is from Malibu so she is most likely paying full fare with parents who make $300 k per year. She certainly received some nice scholarship offers unless she avoided talking to every program in the country. Even the top ranked programs would have given her a partial. That leaves me wondering how she didn’t end up somewhere like Notre Dame, Northwestetn, UCLA, Stanford, Michigan, Duke, etc.

Ivy league education, plus she gets to run for the program that has produced several high level professional athletes. Not sure why people are so surprised.

My daughter isn’t the same stature athletically, but is at Dartmouth. We got $0 in aid, with a combined income around $300k (divorced unfortunately and the ex makes 2/3rds of it).
The campus is lovely, but it’s a stupidly ridiculous amount to pay for an undergraduate degree.
They are on trimester system too, so I get a shocking $23k bill 3 times a year!
Anyhow, all the best to Claudia.
