Haha, I'm sloowwwww. 5:21 mile. 63 sec 400 (not all out) as of right now, maybe I could keep up for 800m or so...
Reminds me of a conversation I had with this chick. I asked her if she watched or heard about Eliud Kipchoge new world record in the marathon? Surprisingly she didn't hear about it, so I told her about it. Than she asked me if I could run that fast, I laughed and said I can barely run a mile at that pace.
I have no idea what i could do in the mile, but id imagine somewhere around 4:50, give or take. Its unfathomable to run that for a marathon, but theres plenty of people that cant run my marathon pace for a mile and its mind boggling to run it for a marathon

Not even close! Now how far could I maintain that pace with him when I was in my prime would probably be a better question. For me I'd be dying off around the four mile mark.

That's damn good. I assume you were the typical 14:06 Letsrunner?
My mile PR is 4:38 . . . so Kipchoge has nothing on me.
I'm just a hobby jogger that didn't start running until age 35, so a 4:38 mile was way beyond me. In fact I'm not certain I could have even done a 2:20 800 to be honest. I think my best (which was just time trailing at the track) was just under 2:30.
lmao 5:20 mile, 56s 400m, and 2:26 800m im clearly not a endurance runner
yeah this mans would smoke me on an easy day
I think I could cycle that fast.
I can't evan drive that fast

You definitely can't think that fast.
Is that meant to be witty? How long did it take you to come up with that insult?

Too bad you can't think faster or you'd know the answer to those questions.

Unfair. For some of us our best days were before you were born. And we might have been better than you.

What does this mean? Are you saying it's mind boggling to you yourself personally that you can run at your marathon pace for a marathon?
Dang, I was a 2:43 marathoner at my best, but even at my best there's no way I ever could have run 4:38/mile pace for even 400 m. I'm not sure that I was ever able to run under 18 s for 100 m!
No. However, I think the general public is clueless and would have zero appreciation for how fast this is. He ran faster for 26 miles than most Americans could run for, even 400 meters. They simply could not keep up from the starters gun for more than a few seconds.
