A 60 year old guy from Idaho ran the Okanagan marathon (two loop course) with a 2:43 half split and came in to the finish at 3:04! Easily won his age category...

He’s missing the 30k and 35k splits, so yeah he cut the course. Plus it’s impossible to run half in 21 minutes.
Marathon investigation, you should hire me now. -
My guess based on the map is that he ran through the half and then cut across the park to the finish line.

From reviewing the past race photos and videos and comparing them with the current 2018 race videos of our suspect for the Okanagan Marathon, it looks like he didn't even run any of the 2018 course since he doesn't appear in any of the race videos I can see. This Robert Spady is a pretty tall, lanky, easy to spot guy. I can easily see him in the 10k and finish line videos for the 2016 and 2017 versions of the race:

However, I cannot spot him at all in the race videos that are supposedly of him at his race times:

The two runners that finish at Robert Spady's race time do not look like him and the bib numbers of the one in green do not match the 412 bib of Spady from Sportstats.
I wonder if there is somehow an explanation for these race videos. On the surface, it would appear that Spady could have used a bib mule, gave his bib to someone else, or he was cutting the course out of site of the cameras but triggering some of the timing mats. But reviewing his Athlinks results, the Okanagan 2018 marathon is the only suspect result that stands out.
It looks like we have race videos for 2018 but the race photos are not up yet. Once those are up, it will make it more clear what happened.
This seems like a job for Derek to get a hold of the RD's to ask questions of what happened. -
Also, I could not find the social media accounts for our Robert Spady to check if he is indeed claiming the top placings. Can anyone find his accounts?

Another piece of evidence to add to this case, I now realize that there are race photos for the other top finishers along with the race videos. The race photos are likely tagged with the help of OCR on the bibs in the photos whereas the videos are clips from the expected time ranges.
This means that the photo cameras were not able to visually recognize our suspect's bibs at any point on the course. -

His 21min half marathon is quite an impressive WR!
From the 2016/17 race photos, he definitely looks like a doctor from Moscow, Idaho.

That, and the other theme that seems to crop up so often with serial cheaters, that they're doing it for a good cause so it makes cheating OK and anyone who questions it is a hater. -

No, it's the Derek-obsessed weirdo who pops up on every cheater thread. Derek has thousands of followers on social media and is regularly featured in other media, but this creepy dude, likely a previously outed cheater, claims that Derek, who frequently posts on letsrun under his registered name, also posts under fake names to drive traffic to his website. The weirdo has never explained the logic of how posting under fake names drives traffic more than posting under a registered name, but don't expect reason. His obsession is tired and old, but it's kinda fascinating how someone gets so unhinged about it. -

Spady cutting the course in 2017 as indicated by the splits and him not even running the 2018 race as indicated by race videos rules out him being innocent.
