29:08 at 10k. They're not playing.
The draw of having pacers has vanished. Pacers were interesting for the WR attempts, but Kipchoge has put an end to that. (For the most part, a lot of people still want to see, say, Galen get the AR.)
Now, to keep the marathon interesting, they need shift focus on championship style races... and then, we only need to watch the final 1k. Maybe we should just go back to the track.
2:56 11th km

How many in the lead pack including two pacemakers?
10K 29:10. And what's with that 2nd group of only 4 getting so much air time? Is there a Kenyan European in there going for a national record? And any English stream? Thx

The whole pack has gone with the lead pace like happened in Berlin last year.

As you say, championship style races are incredible boring because you just could skip the first 40k. So no, it doesn't keep the marathon interesting.
Yenew Alamirew runs marathons now? Never noticed

We have a boat cam! Lead pack down to 15, just passed 15K
About 44:002 for 15K. Wow. Hope they can keep this up.
15km passed in 44:01. 2:03:50 pace. It's slowing down a bit
The Amsterdam Marathon is streaming the race live with English commentary on its Facebook page:
Looks like they're down to one pacemaker, Kiptoo, at 15k. Where did the Ethiopian guy go?
On a narrow path, starting to string out. About to drop another.
