how many hours til the start?
how many hours til the start?
Apparently Kenenisa called Eluid Kipchoge for advice on how to outrun Father Time for two hours one minute and thirty-eight seconds. Eluid's response was to begin singing the words to his favorite song:
Ee e e um um a weh
Ee e e um um a weh
Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh
Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh
Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh
Wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh, wimoweh
In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle, the quiet jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
Kenenisa didn't take his singing with good humor and hung up before Eluid could finish. We will see if Kenenisa can use this taunt in his effort to run the Amsterdam 'thon on "Pure Hate".

'Thon fans will have an exciting double-header tomorrow. First the Amsterdam 'thon or Kenenisa's Revenge and then the Toronto 'thon. Will Cam break the Canuck 'thon record and also keep his tummy under control? My advice is to stay away from moose meat as a pre-race meal. Set your alarms 'thon fans.
Expect Great Things!!!

A little less than 5 hours from now. No stream available internationally yet (NBC Gold only good in U.S.)
5 hours and 2 minutes

7 hours and 10 minutes to Banana Bread's final post. ⏰
It depends on what time zone you are in. For some it will start in 5 hours but it may be more or less depending on where you live. Coincidently it is also a little less then 5 hours until it starts where I live.
What? If there is 5 hours to race start, this will apply for everyone regardless of timezone.
No, it's three hours earlier in Oregon.
Expect big things...
3 hours until your last post. Some of us will miss you, Banana Bread.
I have to say Kennenisa looks relaxed before the race. Looks fitter than the promotional videos. Says he feels he and Eliud are on the same level, that he's better on the track and Eliud better at the marathon. He thinks he can have a go at the record but it will not be easy.

Easy!
Aaaand they're off!
Can't Amsterdam Marathon afford distinct uniforms for the pace makers?
2:37 first km lol
Bekele better slow down before he DNFs

Sorry, Jos. Can't be surprised at that when your athlete has such a string on dnfs.
They probably remember the end of Geb´s marathon career, where he showed up, picked up the apperance fee and then DNF´d.
Did he take off again?
They grow there own trees, don't they? wrote:

It doesn't surprise me that races don't want to pay big $$$ for a washed up doper. Bekele's best days are WAY behind him at this point.
Your a moron.
It is spelled "moran".
